Experienced machine operator for construction projects

Are you an experienced machine operator, and do you dream of carrying out varied projects with changing work locations and the freedom to plan your workweek? Then we have a permanent job for you in Forstas’ civil works department.

What will you be doing?

As a machine operator you will, among other things, work with

• Operation of machines on earthworks, sewerage, and drainage projects
• Excavation for pipes, manholes, cables and service lines
• Levelling, terrain adjustment and earth moving
• Work on road, path and infrastructure projects
• Running excavators and other construction machines
• Daily supervision of the machines
• Collaboration with pipe installers, handymen and supervisors
• Practical tasks off the machine when needed

One of our upcoming projects you will become part of is the establishment of a cycle path in Central Jutland. In addition, we have several ongoing and awarded projects where we need more skilled people.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience as a machine operator from the civil works or construction industry
• Has worked with earth, sewer, utilities, roads or other similar civil works tasks
• Can operate construction machinery safely and routinely
• Has experience with GPS as well as drawings, levels and laser
• Is ready to help out off the machine when the task requires it
• Works independently, is reliable and takes responsibility
• cooperates well with the rest of the team
• Has a category B driving licence

If you have completed the course “The Road as a Workplace,” that is an advantage. Otherwise we will ensure you get it after you start.

You will be attached to our civil works department in Fredericia, but will as a rule meet directly at the construction sites. Most tasks are located in Central and Southern Jutland, but there may also be projects elsewhere in Jutland and Funen.

It is the job for you if you thrive on variety and do not need to sit in the same machine at the same site every day.

What does the civil works department do?

Forstas’ civil works department carries out a wide range of civil projects – particularly in the areas of roads, rail and utilities. Our own people handle earthworks and sewerage, paving, platform work, cable projects, earth moving, rainwater basins and pedestrian tunnels. When needed, we cooperate with subcontractors and receive assistance from Forstas’ other departments.

We place emphasis on everyone knowing the project, the customer's expectations and their own role in the task. This creates job satisfaction, a strong sense of camaraderie and good results.

The practical

The position is generally 37 hours per week. We hold interviews on an ongoing basis, and we hire as soon as we have found the right candidate .
