Experienced nurse sought for 12-year-old boy in Silkeborg

Are you interested in making a significant difference in a child's life? We are seeking 2 qualified and experienced nurses for a permanent team around a 12-year-old boy in Silkeborg. This is one permanent position of 30 hours and one relief position.

You will play a central role in monitoring, activation and care of an active and life-loving boy with severe epilepsy and extensive care needs.

About the job

As a nurse you will be part of a team around a young boy who lives at home with his family in the countryside. The boy has a chromosomal disorder that affects the brain and development, resulting in daily epileptic seizures. The focus is on creating safety, meaning in life and positive everyday experiences — also when care requires special attention.

Your tasks will include, among other things

✅ Daily care and constant observation of epileptic seizures

✅ Acute response to seizures, including medication

✅ Support and accompaniment during activities outside the home

✅ Driving the family's accessible car ( a driver's license is required )

Working hours

🔹 Day, evening and night shifts: 7-hour shifts (12-hour shifts occur)

🔹 Weekend shifts: 12-hour shifts (about one per month)

🔹 Flexibility : Possibility to take extra shifts due to illness and vacation.

Who are you?

We are looking for a nurse with

✔ Experience in pediatric care, intensive care, acute care or neurology

✔ Knowledge of epilepsy and seizure management

✔ Physical robustness, as the boy needs physical support despite aids

✔ Ability to work independently in close collaboration with the family

✔ A flexible and stable approach to shift planning
