About the job

Would you advise innovative companies on protecting their technology?

Published on September 24, 2026

Do you have experience with patent work and strong technical competencies in software and mechanics? And would you use your professional expertise in an ambitious IP consulting firm where you work closely with both clients and their technology?

Then you could be the experienced patent consultant we are looking for in our patent department.

You come close to both the technology and the customers

As a patent consultant at Patrade you help Danish and international companies protect their innovations and create value from their ideas and technological solutions.

You work closely with inventors, developers and decision-makers and translate complex technical solutions into strong patent rights and clear, business-oriented advice.

Your tasks will include

  • advise clients on patent strategy and protection of new technologies
  • draft and prosecute patent applications
  • assess the patentability of inventions and perform novelty searches
  • handle matters before Danish and international patent authorities
  • advise on freedom to operate and possible patent infringements
  • build and develop long-term client relationships
  • collaborate with our other patent consultants, European Patent Attorneys, lawyers and attorneys

You will have responsibility for your own clients and cases, but you will not be alone. With us, sparring and knowledge sharing are a natural part of the work, and we often solve tasks across technical and legal disciplines.

Experience in software and mechanics

We imagine that you are a European Patent Attorney or have three to four years of experience or more with patent work. Your educational background could be in software, IT, engineering, physics or a related technical field.

It is particularly important that you have expertise in software and software-based inventions as well as general mechanics and mechanical solutions

In addition, we value that you

  • quickly grasp advanced technology and understand the client's business
  • communicate complex technical and legal material clearly and precisely
  • work in a structured manner and take responsibility for your cases
  • thrive on client contact and be able to build trusted relationships
  • have business understanding and an eye for the clients' commercial needs
  • want to actively contribute to our professional environment and business
  • communicate confidently and professionally in both Danish and English, orally as well as in writing

A strong professional environment with room for development

At Patrade you become part of a full-service IP firm with specialists in patents, trademarks, design, law and Online Brand Protection. We work closely across disciplines so we can view our clients' intellectual property in a broader commercial context and assemble the advice that fits their technology, market and business.

You will have exciting assignments for innovative Danish and international companies and the opportunity to take independent responsibility for both clients and cases. At the same time you will always have access to professional sparring from skilled and engaged colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge and experience.

We have short decision-making processes, an informal tone and room to influence both the tasks and your own professional development. We emphasize flexibility and creating the framework for a work-life that works and is sustainable in the long term.
