Experienced PAU’ers or helpers for Altankassen

We are looking for two to three skilled and experienced PAU's or assistants. The available positions are in the urban kindergarten, the outreach kindergarten and the nursery.

There can be a one- to two-monthly 0-day schedule.

About Altankassen

We are a large, integrated institution with 150+ children aged 0-6 years distributed across six nursery groups and four kindergarten groups, of which two groups participate in an outreach community in Dragør. Altankassen is located close to the metro and Amager Fælled and is surrounded by many lovely green areas, public playgrounds and cultural offerings. We have our own parking lot for staff.

At Amagerfælledvej we spread across three floors in a house we share with another institution that occupies the ground floor. We have very good indoor facilities with a large hall, climbing/tumbling room, good circulation areas with motor skills courses and large, bright rooms. Outside we have a fantastic playground with big, old trees, a campfire area, ball and hockey courts and good opportunities for play.

Altankassen has two leaders who prioritize being present in practice and participate in all classroom meetings. Altankassen is part of Amager Klynge C, which consists of six institutions.

We continuously work to maintain a good working environment and we have several employees who have returned to Altankassen after being away from the institution. We work with the Circle of Safety, Language Staircase, Food Life and TOPI and are currently focused on play and play environments. We emphasize the good relationship and security as the basis for all development and learning. We place importance on every child feeling seen, heard and understood every day.

We take our starting point in the zone of proximal development and work with the children’s self-reliance and in understanding the intention behind the children’s actions, in order to help all children to join in in the best possible way in small and larger groups. We work differentiated and continuously according to the child/child group’s development and needs throughout the day.

About the urban kindergarten

The urban kindergarten has two rooms that work closely together as a team. In each room we have 18-22 children and we would like to have two teachers and one assistant. We have also employed two staff members in flexi jobs, who are in the kindergarten for a total of 27 hours per week.

We have a well-established structure and a good working community in the urban kindergarten, where one naturally helps others in daily life (and vice versa with the nursery when required). We work with weekly plans but do not let the plans control us. In a busy everyday life, it may be necessary to be flexible and there should also be room for spontaneity. Fixed activities across both rooms include large-group, middle-group, mini-group and focus group, two rhythm groups and the playground in the middle of the day.

We hold classroom meetings regularly once a week, and there is often time for planning/other work at department and teacher meetings.

About Nyttehaven

Nyttehaven is located in the Outreach Community Rosenlundsvej in Dragør, which is a 15-20 minute bus ride from Altankassen on Amagerfælledvej. We depart at 08:30 and return at about 15:30. Outside these times, Nyttehaven's children are with the other kindergarten children at Altankassen. Nyttehaven has good indoor facilities and the playground is well laid out with good play opportunities and its own campfire area and it is very green and well maintained.

Across the road lies Kongelunden, where we have many good play places and we often go on trips. Sydvestpynten, Kongelundsfortet and Bjarke Cirkelsten are within walking distance (but we also have cargo bikes) and there are also several farms in the area where you can see animals in the fields. We prioritize the opportunity to do educational activities outdoors regardless of the weather, but also remember to use our good indoor facilities.

The work community at Nyttehaven is something very special. Because we only have two rooms and the staff have different 0-days, we work a lot across both in planned activities and when play is free. In addition, both professionalism and mood are high.

At the moment we are three teachers, two PAU's, three assistants and two permanent substitutes when needed. We have space for 44 children, and Nyttehaven is so popular with our parents that we rarely have empty spaces.

We hold classroom meetings outside of child time every week and we also often have planning time in connection with teacher meetings. During holidays we are together with the kindergarten on Amagerfælledvej, where we have a room available.

About the nursery

The nursery has six rooms, distributed as three rooms on each floor. Each floor forms its own team, but we also work across the two teams. In each room we have 12 children and in addition to the fixed staff in the rooms we have a floating staff member who covers for holidays, sickness, meetings and courses.

We have a well-established structure and a good working community in the nursery, where you as a natural part of daily life help each other (and also the kindergarten and vice versa when necessary). We work with weekly plans, but do not let the plans control us. It can be necessary in a busy day to be flexible and there must also be room for spontaneity. Fixed activities across all rooms include large group, two rhythm groups and our hall and tumbling room.

There are fixed classroom meetings for one hour every other week and time for planning/other work in between and at department and teacher meetings.

We expect that you

• are structured and can plan and implement pedagogical processes
• are a clear and direction-giving adult without being admonishing
• can reflect on your own practice
• have humor and enjoy everyday life – even when things get hectic.

Working hours will be between 07:00-17:00, though there are staff meetings, parent meetings and similar after 17:00.

Salary and employment terms

The positions are available on January 1 and February 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Working hours are 37 hours per week unless we agree otherwise. Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local salary formation. In connection with the hires we will obtain a child and criminal record check and take references.
