About the job

And are words like budget follow-up, grant administration and public administration music to your ears? Then we might have the job for you!

We are looking for three to four colleagues for our Office of Finance, Grants and Governance. Here you will be part of either Budget and Governance, Grant Applications or Grants Finance. Three teams with different tasks, but the same goal: that everything is under control!

What the job involves depends a little on which team you join.

In Budget and Governance you will keep track of where the money comes from, where it should go, and whether it is enough. For example by contributing to internal budget planning and follow-up and to hearings from the ministry in connection with the Finance Act, analyses for use in decision proposals etc. You will work closely with the agency's leaders, department heads and the management and help ensure that decisions are made on a solid basis.

In Grant Applications you will, among other things, be responsible for administering portfolios from start to finish. You will work with policy development, communications, case processing and decisions, follow up and be in dialogue with the municipalities and civil society organizations that apply for and receive grants. You will also have the opportunity to develop procedures, workflows and new solutions.

In Grants Finance you will work among other things with case processing of various grants, including tasks related to accounts, budgets and dialogue with municipalities and civil society organizations. You help ensure that the state’s grant funds are used in accordance with the purpose and the rules – while it should be easy for grant recipients to navigate.

We are looking for you who

  • can explain something complicated so that it actually makes sense to others
  • have a flair for numbers, data and detective work when the numbers don’t quite add up
  • notice when something can be done smarter and want to do something about it
  • can both dive into a task and reach out when we solve it together
  • want to develop yourself, your colleagues and the way we work
  • face new tasks with engagement, flexibility and good humor

We are not too concerned with whether your CV says office assistant, economist or political science. The most important is that you can see yourself in the tasks.

About the office and the agency

We are about 50 employees in the Office of Finance, Grants and Governance. We have different educational backgrounds and are spread across four teams; Budget and Governance, Accounting, Grants Finance and Grant Applications. We have many task-based communities across the four teams and a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration. We are a professionally strong office with skilled colleagues who bring different competencies into play.

Our tasks range from internal financial management (Finance Act, accounting, risk management) to grant administration in the social and elderly sector (disbursement and follow-up on government grant funds).

Salary and terms of employment

The positions are permanent full-time appointments. Your first day on the job will be as soon as possible or by 1 January 2027.

You will be employed in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant organization. Your job title will depend on your educational background. The expected salary level will be communicated at a possible first interview and determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including education, experience, competencies and job responsibilities.

If we offer you the position, you will be asked to submit a private criminal record for assessment of whether you can be employed. Employment is thus conditional on both presenting the criminal record and satisfactory information in the certificate.
