About the job
Community-building team leader with a pedagogical background for PPR Hjørring Municipality
We are seeking a community-building and presence-rich team leader for a dedicated PPR in transition, someone who, together with us, will create new small bubbles of dreams, hope and happiness in children’s communities and with children, youth and families.
PPR is moving towards restructuring our practice to be more community-focused, preventive and practice-participatory. We must work even more closely with children’s everyday life in early childhood facilities and schools and contribute to the development of the pedagogical learning environments. We are driven by promoting diverse and developing child communities in early childhood education and schools as well as children and youths’ life skills.
This only succeeds with the inclusion of child perspectives and in the strong adult community, where durable solutions are developed when professional knowledge is connected with pedagogical practice and interprofessional collaboration.
We offer a workplace where
- We regard success as something we create together. Therefore we excel at working collaboratively and in a team-based manner as a professional learning community, where the breadth of our professional disciplines is effectively leveraged.
- The culture is learning-oriented and reflected, among other things, in feedback as an important part of practice. There is a high degree of flexibility and trust, created by mutual commitment and a shared focus on our core task: ”Together we create development, learning and wellbeing”
- There is pace, a wide variety of tasks and broad assignments with many interests. Retention and strengthening of a healthy work environment and psychological safety are therefore a shared priority.
- The leadership team is a learning and development space, where in addition to coordinating and developing the PPR task we also prioritize developing our leadership. We value the ability to lead across tasks so that employees experience coherent PPR leadership.
The task
You will be the personnel and professional leader for the group of speech and hearing counselors, pedagogical and social-educational staff and physiotherapist/occupational therapists.
Together with your team leader counterpart you will have responsibility for leading the interdisciplinary PPR teams with a focus on a holistic and coordinated task solution, where interdisciplinarity is used effectively.
One of your prioritized tasks will be to implement and further develop a new model for our absence management effort and team, which matches the upcoming new rules regarding absence and promotes preventive and early intervention in close collaboration with the schools.
You will play a key role in leading and implementing the reorganization of PPR practice towards a more community-oriented, preventive and practice-participatory approach. This requires the development of new competencies for everyone and the courage to trial new practices in close collaboration with our kindergartens, schools and other partners. For the speech-language pathology PPR task there are also changes that require you, together with the staff, to concretely reorganize part of the practice to take place in the children’s daily life in kindergartens together with the educational staff.
We expect that you
- Have a solid professionally relevant background in relation to PPR work.
- Have experience in working with children and youth and insight into PPR.
- Can see yourself working with reference to Hjørring Municipality’s leadership framework and the Children and Labour Market area values.
- Have experience with management or a desire to lead and a willingness to complete a diploma in leadership.
We expect your approach to be characterized by
- A resource-oriented and systemic view of the child where inclusion of the child’s perspectives in solutions is essential.
- A positively contagious and open attitude in a complex work field and the ability to stay within complexity without losing footing and decisive action – while creating stable anchor points for employees in a busy daily life with high emotional expectations.
- A orientation towards seeking and building strong partnerships with our partners in school and early childhood education and other, and through perseverance create shared results. You insist on collaboration – even when it may be difficult.
- A commitment to developing your leadership and being proactive in seeking feedback whether you have long managerial experience or are just starting your journey
Our wishes for your professional leadership and staff leadership
- You are driven by success through and with staff and thrive on working closely with the operation of our tasks with a focus on robust operations and development of the tasks. You prioritize creating developmental learning spaces for staff.
- Accessible and presence-based leadership that meets staff with trust and curiosity while also able to challenge and support professional development. You have the ability to move close to complex cases needing leadership.
- Translate and translate strategies and principles into concrete practice and actions that make a concrete positive difference for children and youths and create results.
- You can maintain an overview and create clear frameworks and direction for tasks while supporting and following up. You manage to help create structure and prioritize in a daily life with pressure, based on curiosity about the different perspectives.
- You support and maintain a culture and behavior in the staff group that underpins our purpose, focus and priorities. Your communication is clear, concise and solution-focused where there is sometimes alignment of many conflicting interests and paradoxes
