Subject leader for Gladsaxe Municipality's reception classes at Vadgård School

Would you like to help set the professional direction for the work with newly arrived and multilingual children?

We are seeking, as of January 1, 2027, a committed and academically strong professional leader for Gladsaxe Municipality's reception classes at Vadgård School. The reception classes are an integrated part of Vadgård School and currently have about 100 students from around the world.

You will be part of an engaged professional environment with a basis in the school's leadership team and close collaboration with teachers and pedagogues who are passionate about working with multilingual children and young people.

We offer an exciting and independent position where you will both have the opportunity to lead the pedagogical staff and ensure the professional development of the reception classes at Vadgård School, but also to contribute to the development of the DSA area in Gladsaxe Municipality. The position also includes a municipal consultancy function with regard to Danish as a second language.

As the professional leader you will become part of a management team that consists of the school principal and four professional leaders. We work closely together in the management team, and you will therefore always have collegial sparring regarding your tasks.

Your daily work will be characterized by varied tasks around pedagogical leadership of the daily teaching and tasks in the reception classes, as well as management tasks related to the general school.

About Vadgård School

Our school has two- and three-stream and consists of 650 students and 75 staff members.

We are a PALS school with a focus on a positive and acknowledge-learning environment. Especially in the lower school, we work targeted with PALS to ensure the best possible start for students' learning and well-being.

We continuously work on strengthening and developing learning environments, community and the way school is created. We work together to create participation opportunities for all. This means that we continuously work to strengthen communities with a vision that all children have the right to a general offer.

• Thrive in close collaboration with leadership colleagues in the management team – also on tasks that cross each other’s areas of work.
• Have strong professional competencies within the field of Danish as a second language.

As the professional leader you will have a central role in the daily coordination and the professional development of the reception classes.

You must be able to create an overview of many simultaneous student paths and handle that new students continually arrive, while others are on their way to their district school.

It is therefore important that you thrive in a role where your primary task is to set the professional direction, create an overview, coordinate and support the staff's work.

As a municipal DSA consultant you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the DSA area in Gladsaxe Municipality and support the quality of work with multilingual students across the municipality's schools. A central part of this consultant function will be planning of presentations, networks and professional development.

Salary and employment terms

The position is full-time, 37 hours per week.

Salary and employment are in accordance with the current collective agreement.
