About the job
The Resource Center is part of the Municipality of Mariagerfjord's offerings to children, youths and families with both preventive and comprehensive support.
We are seeking a FULL-TIME FAMILY CONSULTANT for primary employment in our: 24/7 Accommodation in the Family and Youth House - 37 hours per week.
The Family and Youth House is part of the Resource Center, where children, youths and families receive residential care with the aim of developing and supporting development and well-being. We are therefore looking for a colleague, preferably with experience in working with the target group of youths and families.
In the Family and Youth House we work from a professionally grounded and appreciative approach, where the relationship is the central focus of our efforts. Our pedagogical practice draws among other things on the Low Arousal approach as well as the Neuroaffective Compass. These approaches/methods support our work in creating safe, developmental and predictable environments for children, youths and their families.
We place emphasis on meeting the individual with curiosity, respect and a resources-oriented perspective, where behaviour is understood in the context in which it occurs. Through mentalization, emotion regulation and a conscious adjustment of our own approach we work purposefully to strengthen well-being, development and sustainable relationships.
As a colleague you will join a team of professionally skilled and engaged colleagues attached to the Family and Youth House; you will also be part of a total staff group, which also includes family consultants who primarily work in the families' homes. We work with support and development of the individual challenges of the young person/family, for example self-esteem, self-confidence, recognizing one’s own resources, and handling difficult situations. We also work with recognizing successes and helping the young person/family see when they are developing.
There is an emphasis on offering an individualized, dynamic and holistic effort, which can consist of several composite solutions:
- Overnight stays for children/youths
- Overnight stays for family treatment
- Respite care
- Acute admission, including mapping the child’s/young person’s and family’s situation
- Family work at home
- Supported and supervised contact
- Aftercare
We are looking for you who
- are educated as a pedagogue or have another relevant basic education, preferably with experience from psychiatry, and/or relevant continuing education
- can accommodate children/youths and families in difficulties and collaborate with the parents to create development and well-being for their children/youths
- can work development-supportively with children, youths and families from a relational, pedagogical and treatment-oriented approach
- independently can plan, structure and carry out work with the families within the goals and frameworks set by the authority case handler
- are adaptable and flexible with regard to evolving tasks and working hours
- take ownership and will contribute to ongoing professional development of our interdisciplinary collaboration
- are well able to articulate in writing and can handle written documentation in the form of status reports, observation descriptions and assessments
We offer
- Exciting and varied work tasks
- Skilled and engaged colleagues
- A workplace in constant professional development
- An exciting and challenging job with a high degree of independence under responsibility
- External supervision
The working hours are expected to be planned and carried out during daytimes, evenings, and weekends.
