Finance Assistant at VL Staal

Would you like to work with a strong team consisting of 3 colleagues in an international company?

Then we are looking for a Finance Assistant who will handle tasks for both VL Staal and our subsidiary Dansk Skorstens Teknik. You will report to the Finance Manager.

VL Staal a/s in Esbjerg is one of Europe’s leading companies in the design, production and servicing of freestanding chimneys, pressure vessels and larger steel constructions. Production and assembly take place according to internationally recognised norms and standards, just as quality and environmental management are documented and certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

The company is owned by the French Poujoulat Group and plays a significant role in the group. Customers are typically power and heating plants, shipyards, boiler manufacturers and manufacturing companies. The customer base also includes industrial contractors who handle main contracts.

VL Staal also produces steel constructions as a supplier to other industries. An area that is expected to grow significantly.

VL Staal a/s’ most important raw material is its employees. About 100 highly qualified and motivated employees are at your disposal to create optimal solutions for customers.

Job profile

Your tasks will include, among others

• Accounts receivable - supporting the accounts receivable clerk
• Accounts payable
• Monthly financial statements and reconciliation of work in progress
• VAT reconciliations and submissions to Intrastat, as well as Danish and foreign authorities
• Supplier/purchasing analyses and statistics, as well as purchasing controlling
• Inventory management and annual stocktake
• Internal IT support coordinated with our external IT consultant
• Support the Finance Manager in preparing budgets and monthly reporting, including communication with the parent company in France
• Support the preparation of the annual financial statements
• Support the preparation of the annual operational plan with various analyses and presentations
• Other ad hoc tasks

Your profile

We expect that you

• Are educated in economics or accounting with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an finance department
• Can understand and carry out a reconciliation and troubleshoot discrepancies
• Are a super user of Excel, and an experienced user of NAV or ERP systems in general
• Master Danish, and can communicate in English and German at a conversation level
• Have a driving license for a regular car

As a person, you are detail-oriented, and have the ability to see and understand the processes from a broader perspective. You have good problem-solving skills and are curious to understand the relationships in calculations and results.

Furthermore, you are helpful and sociable, and have good communication skills.
