About the job
Are you strong in financial management, analysis and management sparring? Are you motivated by turning numbers into a basis for decision-making and creating an overview in a complex organization?
We are seeking a finance assistant who wishes to be an active and value-creating sparring partner for managers and executives in the care sector. You will become a central part of the daily financial operations and will play an important role in ensuring a solid foundation for financial management, follow-up and management information.
You will have a varied job with extensive contact and the opportunity to influence both the tasks and the development of the finance function. At the same time, you will become part of a strong administrative community with nine engaged colleagues who value collaboration, professionalism and an informal tone.
We are looking for a new colleague to start on January 1, 2027. The position is initially 37 hours per week.
What tasks do we solve?
Our team handles many different tasks across the entire care sector in Skanderborg Municipality, where we support 13 fixed interdisciplinary teams and seven care homes. The primary tasks in the team include payroll and personnel, finance, IT support and ad hoc tasks.
We are in the process of developing the administration and creating a clearer specialization within our areas of responsibility. You will therefore have the opportunity to shape both collaboration forms and the future development of the finance function.
Responsibilities and tasks in the position
The core of your work tasks is centered on finance, where you will be a sparring partner for managers and executives in the care sector. You will play an important role in relation to monthly financial follow-ups, analyses and further development of management information to secure a qualified basis for decision-making.
You will work closely with managers, executives, the municipality’s Finance Team and the Secretariat for Health, Care and Handicap. Together, we contribute to responsible financial management that supports the core task and the development of the care sector.
Your primary tasks will be
- Preparation of monthly financial follow-ups, focusing on actual consumption as well as allocations in relation to the expected consumption in close collaboration with the budget-responsible leaders/executives
- Support to the management regarding financial questions and the financial analyses requested by management
- Development of management information, steering tools and sparring for leaders and executives
- Responsible for bookkeeping, invoicing and reconciliations
- Support operations regarding IT including ordering, setup, registration and support for care devices (phones and tablets)
You will become part of a decentralized administrative team where we help each other across professional communities, share knowledge and prioritize a good working environment with room for professionalism, humor and a sense of community.
The care sector is facing a reorganization in 2027 and is also characterized by the changes brought by the new elderly act. This means you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of both the finance function and the administrative supporting processes. Therefore, we are looking for a colleague who thrives in an organization in motion and sees opportunities in development and change.
The administration is based in the Community House Tjørnehaven in Galten. Part of the work takes place close to operations, and there will therefore be work days out in the organization, where you must be able to work independently. A driving license and your own car are therefore a necessity.
We have great trust in the individual employee and offer flexible terms with the possibility of remote work when tasks permit. At the same time, we emphasize balance between work life and private life.
Qualifications and competencies – your background
- Have a relevant education and experience within the financial area, preferably from a municipality or another public organization
- Have experience with financial management, budget follow-up and financial analyses
- Are familiar with Excel, KMD OPUS and NemEconomy as well as generally IT-fluent
- Can convey financial relationships in a way that creates value for managers and collaboration partners
- Work in a structured and quality-conscious manner and thrive with responsibility and deadlines
- Contribute positively to collaboration and thrive in a culture characterized by community, feedback and development.
