Finance Assistant with Controller Profile

RelationMedia is seeking a structured and curious finance assistant who wants to become a central part of our finance function. You will become part of a small finance team and will have a broad role where classic accounting/bookkeeping tasks are combined with controlling, monthly reporting and ongoing analyses.

The role suits you if you enjoy both daily operations and digging into the numbers. You will be responsible for your own areas and work closely with both management and colleagues across the company.

Your primary tasks

· Bookkeeping and ongoing creditor follow-up and registration of supplier invoices

· Reconciliation of bank, liquidity, intercompany items, payroll, debt and other balance sheet items

· Invoicing, invoice control and follow-up on ongoing projects

· Payroll-related tasks for our freelance organization, including payroll data, control files and bookkeeping

· Preparation of monthly accounts with analyses and explanations of variances

· Project accounting and controlling for departments, customers, projects and employees

· Preparation and maintenance of reporting files, forecasts and profitability analyses

· Quarterly statements and financial tasks for smaller companies in the group

· Contribute to development and better utilization of our ERP system WorkBook as well as building analysis models in Excel

A broad role close to the business

You will get a finance position with great variation and a natural combination of accounting and controlling. Part of the month will be characterized by fixed deadlines around payroll, invoicing and month-end close, while there is also room for analyses, improvements and ad hoc tasks.

You will get close to the business and must not only ensure that the numbers add up. We also expect you to be investigative and proactive in understanding why they look the way they do, and that you can translate deviations and observations into relevant information and concrete follow-up actions.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

· Have a relevant financial education, e.g., financial economist, financial controller, HD or similar

· Have experience with bookkeeping, reconciliations and monthly closure

· Are strong in Excel and eager to work with reporting and analysis

· Work in a structured, thorough manner and take responsibility for your deadlines

· Are curious and proactive and follow up when something doesn't add up or is missing

· Can work independently, but at the same time thrive in a small finance team with close sparring

· Have business acumen and a desire to get close to operations rather than only doing bookkeeping

· Communicate clearly and can convey financial observations to colleagues outside the finance function

· Are positive about new systems, processes and ongoing improvements
