Financial Project Controller

On behalf of FB Gruppen, Basico is seeking an experienced Financial Project Controller who can bring their strong accounting expertise and financial weight into play. As Financial Project Controller you will have a central responsibility for the project economics in FB Gruppens real estate development projects.

You will have full responsibility for the individual company, including interim and annual accounts. You will be responsible for independently driving the finances in your projects, including creating a truthful financial overview, ensuring solid documentation and supporting that the projects are managed effectively throughout their life cycle.

In addition to working hands on with the accounting processes, you will need to ensure a good audit process.

A significant part of the role is working with ongoing works (IGVA). It requires a strong accounting understanding and practical experience with, among other things, estimating, accruals, assessment of completion degree, margin management, and correct documentation of project revenues and costs.

You will become part of an ambitious growth company and will be based at the head office in Valby – in a central role with a broad contact surface to project managers, contractors and other internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

· Responsibility for project economics on individual projects and urban development areas

· Monitor project budgets, liquidity and financial variances

· Correct accounting for ongoing works, including estimation and accruals, assessment of completion degree, margin management, and documentation of revenues and costs

· Prepare relevant reporting to management and other stakeholders

· Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closings

· Identify financial risks and initiate corrective actions

· Handle contract economics, reconciliations and financial follow-up in collaboration with the project organization

· Prepare analyses, scenario calculations and financial models in Excel

· Optimize processes, workflows and control environment within project accounting and IGVA

· Contribute to the ongoing development of system support and reporting tools, ideally with the aid of AI

Your profile

We expect that you have a minimum of six years' experience from an accounting or audit role, where project economics and ongoing works have been a substantial part of your responsibilities, for example in a role as Project Controller or head of accounting, a auditor with experience from the construction or real estate industry, or as a controller in a complex project environment. You should thus be able to see the link between project economics, period closings, and annual accounts.

In addition, we expect that you

• Have a relevant financial education, such as cand.merc.aud.
• Have had the accounting responsibility as well as responsibility for the annual closing
• Have solid experience with estimating, accruals and assessment of completion degrees
• Have strong Excel skills and are comfortable building financial models
• Have experience with project management tools/BI and financial systems – familiarity with Business NXT is an advantage
• Have an understanding and curiosity about the development of the projects themselves, and a constructive collaboration with the project managers that can support the work with the financial part.

You communicate complex financial matters clearly and precisely to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. You work in a structured way, follow up consistently and have high integrity with a strong focus on quality, control and documentation.

As a person you are analytical and detail-oriented, but at the same time you can keep an overview and understand the business behind the numbers. You are proactive, take ownership, create structure and thrive in a cross-disciplinary collaboration where you can both dive into details and convey financial implications in a simple and understandable way.

You are willing to challenge existing workflows when it can strengthen the quality of financial reporting or improve financial management. At the same time, you are a constructive and trustworthy sparring partner who translates analyses and insights into concrete recommendations and actions.
