About us

Firkløverskolen is a public school with about 700 students distributed across a general offer and a special offer located at 4 departments:

• Elkjær, Givskud and Ikær, where students attend grades 0–6 with accompanying SFO.
• Søndermarken, where we gather students in grades 7–9.
• The special department is located at Elkjær and Søndermarken

At Firkløverskolen we create a good frame around the children’s entire daily life. We believe that all children and young people can learn, and that they develop in community with others. Children and young people basically do the best they can, and children and young people participate in learning communities if they can. We focus on the children’s potentials and resources. We are committed to diverse and strong communities, where we start from the idea that difference is a strength.

Firkløverskolen has about 45 students in total in the special offer. The students are divided into age-integrated classes of 0–3 years, 4–6 years and 7–9 years. There is a focus on giving both the student group and the individual student what is particularly needed. This applies to personal development, to functioning in a social community and to academic learning.

Across the special departments, we work to create and develop a child and youth culture, where we adapt and develop communities, environments and instruction in a meaningful universe where it is good to be and to learn.

In the Elkjær department our special department for students in the early years and in the middle years, totaling about 23 students spread over two classes with 12 staff. Here we are seeking an educator for the SFO and. Our special SFO counts about 20 children.

The expected distribution between SFO and school time will be 65% school and 35% SFO.

About the job

Working with the target group is characterized by high complexity.

The students’ different needs place great demands on your pedagogical expertise.

In interaction you must be focused on seeing the pupil’s best intentions and intervene in a qualified manner, balancing between providing appropriate support and not supporting too much.

Work is always done in teams, and it is important that you have curiosity about the pedagogical field and a desire to develop yourself in collaboration with colleagues.

It is a clear advantage to have experience with students in vulnerable positions and/or in powerlessness. It is also advantageous if you have experience within the special pedagogical field in the child and youth sector, as well as knowledge of general learning difficulties, ADHD and Autism.

We focus on creating a learning environment where the students thrive and take care of each other. The goal is for all students to have optimal opportunities to learn and to become as academically proficient as they can and to have good life prospects. We create the framework for our students to participate in the communities they are a part of, and to respect each other’s strengths and challenges. All students should leave the school with a high degree of self-esteem.

You will join a team that has full responsibility for the task with the student group. The team consists of experienced and skilled teachers and educators. The team needs to be supplemented with capable colleagues with a strong interest in and insight into special pedagogical work. You will join the team responsible for students in the age group 0–6 years.

In the special department we are focused on developing our offering together, with particular focus on relationships, structure and mentalization. We actively work with Vejle Municipality’s “Strategy for Developing Communities.” Working from an educational framework where calibrated pedagogy and mentalization are the two central directions.

Terms of employment

This is a permanent full-time position with start on December 1, 2026. Employment follows the collective agreement for pedagogues at day-care institutions, after-school programs, clubs, etc., §§4-9. The expected starting full-time salary excluding pension is DKK 34,231 / within the range of DKK 34,231 to 39,881 depending on seniority. Note that final placement, including the collective agreement basis and salary level, is determined based on your education and qualifications and the specific offered position.
