About the job

Firkløverskolen Give is seeking teachers for the lower and upper primary at our special departments Elkjær and Søndermarken.

About us

Firkløverskolen is a public school with about 700 pupils, distributed across a general program and a special program housed in four departments:

  • Elkjær, Givskud and Ikær, where pupils attend from 0th to 6th grade with the associated after-school program (SFO).
  • Søndermarken, where we group pupils in 7th–9th grade.
  • The Special Department is located at Elkjær and Søndermarken

At Firkløverskolen we create a good framework for the children’s whole daily life. We believe that all children and youth can learn, and that they develop in partnership with others. Children and youth basically do the best they can, and children and youth participate in learning communities if they can. We focus on the children’s potentials and resources. We are committed to diverse and strong communities, where we take as our starting point that difference is a strength.

Firkløverskolen has about 45 pupils in total in the special program. The pupils are divided into age-integrated groups in the 0th–3rd year, 4th–6th year and 7th–9th year. There is a focus on giving both the group of pupils and the individual pupil what is particularly needed. This concerns both personal development, functioning in a social community and academic learning.

Across the special departments, we work to create and develop a children’s and youth culture where we adapt and develop communities, environments and teaching in a meaningful universe where it is good to be and to learn.

At the Elkjær department our special department for pupils in the early years and the middle years counts about 23 pupils spread across two classes with 12 staff. Here we are seeking a teacher who can cover our needs for mathematics and possibly physical education. Music would be a plus, but it is not decisive.

In the Søndermarken Special department we have our special department for upper primary, counting about 22 pupils spread across two classes. Here we are seeking a teacher who can cover our needs for mathematics. Other subjects of particular interest are physical education, home economics, H&D, art and German.

About the job

The work with the target group is characterized by high complexity. The pupils’ varying needs place great demands on your abilities as a teacher. You should pedagogically be focused on seeing the pupil’s best intention. The pupils’ different prerequisites mean that you must have solid subject safety in the subject so you can skillfully plan varied, grasp what arises and adapt the subject to the pupil.

On this basis, it is clearly advantageous to have teaching experience and experience with pupils in vulnerable positions and/or powerlessness. It is also an advantage if you have experience within the special education field for children and youth and knowledge of general learning difficulties, ADHD and Autism.

We focus on creating a learning environment where pupils thrive and look after each other. The aim is for all pupils to have optimal opportunities to learn and become as academically skilled as they can and have good prerequisites for life. We create the framework for our pupils to participate in the communities they are part of, and that they can respect each other’s strengths and challenges. All pupils should leave the school with a high degree of self-esteem.

You will join a team that has full responsibility for the task of the pupil group. The team consists of experienced and skilled teachers and pedagogues. The team needs to supplement itself with a capable colleague with a strong interest in and insight into special educational work. You will join the team that takes care of pupils in the age group 0th–3rd year or 7th–9th year.

In the special department we are focused on developing our offering in collaboration, with a particular focus on relationships, structure and mentalization. We actively work with Vejle Municipality’s “Strategy for Developing Fællesskaber (Communities)”. We work from an educational framework where coordinated pedagogy and mentalization are the two central directions.

We look forward to welcoming you to the pupil group and to the staff community in the special classes and across Firkløverskolen as a whole.
