Firkløverskolen Give is looking for teachers for the primary and lower secondary (ind- and udskoling) at our special departments Elkjær and Søndermarken.

About us

Firkløverskolen is a public school with about 700 pupils, distributed across a general program and a special program housed in 4 departments:

• Elkjær, Givskud and Ikær, where the pupils attend 0.- 6. grade with associated after-school care (SFO).
• Søndermarken, where we gather pupils in 7. – 9. grade.
• The special department is located at Elkjær and Søndermarken

At Firkløverskolen we create a good framework around the children's whole day. We believe that all children and young people can learn, and that they develop in community with others. Children and young people do the best they can, and children and young people participate in learning communities if they can. We focus on the children’s potentials and resources. We are enthusiastic about diverse and strong communities, where we start from the premise that difference is a strength.

Firkløverskolen has about 45 pupils in total in the special program. The pupils are divided into age-integrated classes: 0.-3. year, 4.-6. year and 7.-9. year. There is focus on giving both the group of pupils and the individual pupil what is particularly needed. This applies to personal development, functioning in a social community and academic learning.

Across the special departments, work is done to create and develop a child and youth culture, where we adapt and develop communities, environments and teaching in a meaningful universe where it is good to be and to learn.

In the Elkjær department our special department for the lower primary and middle school, which counts about 23 pupils distributed in two classes with 12 staff. Here we are looking for a teacher who can cover our needs for mathematics and possibly physical education. Music would be a plus, but it is not essential.

In the Søndermarken Special department, our special department for the upper school, which counts about 22 pupils distributed in two classes. Here we are looking for a teacher who can cover our needs for mathematics. Other subjects of particular interest are physical education, home economics, H&D (home economics and crafts), visual arts and German.

About the job

Working with the target group is characterized by high complexity. The pupils' varying needs place great demands on your abilities as an educator. Pedagogically you should be focused on seeing the pupil’s best intentions. The pupils’ different starting points require you to have solid subject knowledge so you can skillfully plan varied lessons, respond to what arises, and adapt the subject to the pupil.

On this basis, it is clearly advantageous to have teaching experience and experience with pupils in vulnerable positions and/or with disempowerment. It is also advantageous if you have experience within the special education field for children and youths and familiarity with general learning difficulties, ADHD and autism.

We focus on creating a learning environment where pupils thrive and take care of one another. The goal is for all pupils to have optimal opportunities to learn and to become as academically skilled as they can, and to have good prerequisites for life. We create the framework for our pupils to participate in the communities they are part of, and to respect each other’s strengths and challenges. All pupils should leave the school with a high degree of self-esteem.

You will join a team that has full responsibility for the task of managing the pupil group. The team consists of experienced and capable teachers and pedagogues. The team needs to supplement itself with a skilled colleague who has great interest in and insight into special education work. You will join the team that takes care of pupils in the age group 0.-3. year or 7.-9.

In the special department we are focused on developing our offering in collaboration, with particular focus on relationships, structure and mentalization. We actively work with Vejle Municipality’s “Strategy for Developing Communities.” We work from an educational framework where aligned pedagogy and mentalization are the two central directions.

Terms of employment

This is a fixed full-time position starting December 1, 2026. Employment is in accordance with the Danish collective agreement for teachers, etc. in primary schools and for adults’ special education, §§ 3-6 on salary determination. The expected starting salary for full-time excluding pension and teaching allowance is DKK 34,885 / in the range of DKK 34,885 to 42,081 depending on seniority. Please note that final placement, including the collective agreement basis and salary level, will be determined based on your education and qualifications and the specific offered position.
