About the job
Do you have experience with forecasts and data – and do you like diving into the numbers and understanding what lies behind them? Do you want to work with analyses and management information that is actively used in the municipality's planning and governance? Then we have an exciting position for you.
Høje-Taastrup Municipality is in rapid growth. In just a few years we have gone from 50,000 to 60,000 inhabitants – and the development continues. This places large demands on both physical and financial planning and makes a solid data foundation absolutely essential.
We are therefore seeking a consultant who will take on a special responsibility for our population and sector forecasts, but who also will work more broadly with citizen data, data analyses and management information. The concrete task portfolio will be somewhat adapted to the competences and experience you bring with you.
Forecasts are a backbone in our planning
An important part of the job will be the work with our annual population forecast and the derived sector forecasts in the school and childcare and elderly sectors. The forecasts are crucial in the municipality's budgeting and capacity planning – for example when we need to assess the need for schools and day-care in line with housing development and changes in the population structure.
You should therefore not only be interested in the result of a forecast, but also in how we arrive at it. You should enjoy the technical and methodological part: Working with calculation models and assumptions, following actual development, assessing forecast accuracy and helping to investigate why the development may diverge from what is expected.
Data must be translated into knowledge that can be used
Forecast work will be your special area of responsibility, but it is not the whole job. You will also work with the municipality's citizen data and with analyses and management information across areas.
Depending on your profile and competences you may, for example, come to work with
- analyzing the development of the municipality's population and different citizen groups
- understanding, linking and analyzing data across systems and subject areas and translating them into new knowledge and developing management information that supports governance and decisions
- solving other data- and analysis tasks together with colleagues in Budget and Analysis and the municipality's subject centers
The crucial thing is that you can both dive into data and calculations and keep an eye on how the results can be used in the municipal reality.
An independent professional responsibility – with good sparring partners
You take over the forecast area after a colleague who for many years has built up extensive knowledge in the area and who has now retired. You therefore get an independent professional responsibility, but you will not be left to tackle the task alone.
We have a small team with fixed sparring partners around the forecast work, and you will work closely with, among others, financial consultants and colleagues who work with housing development, capacity planning and the relevant subject areas. At the same time you will become part of the ongoing professional sparring across Budget and Analysis.
We are looking for you who
- have a relevant higher education and as a starting point at least a couple of years of relevant professional experience
- preferably have experience with population forecasts, sector forecasts or other forecast work
- preferably have experience with management information and translating data into usable governance information – or have a desire to develop yourself in the area
- have strong analytical skills and good number- and data-understanding
- enjoy working thoroughly with data, calculations, models and assumptions
- are curious about what lies behind the numbers, and can see connections in large data sets
- have a basic understanding of how data is structured and connected in different systems – you don't need to be a database expert, but you should be curious about where data comes from, and how it can be used
- can work independently and at the same time thrive with close professional sparring and collaboration
- can communicate complex analyses and results clearly and understandably
Familiarity with municipal data and the municipal reality is an advantage. The most important thing is, however, that you have the analytical background and the desire to understand data and models in depth and translate them into usable knowledge.
What will you get with us?
You will become part of Budget and Analysis, where we are 18 skilled and engaged colleagues working with financial management, forecasts, analyses, data and development tasks across the municipality.
We place emphasis on high professional standards, sparring and knowledge sharing, but also on well-being and humor – it should be fun to go to work. You will have great freedom to drive your own tasks, flexible working hours and the option for remote work 1-2 days a week.
You will be based in our award-winning town hall with modern, open office facilities and good transport and parking options.
Practical information
The position is 37 hours a week with start on December 1, 2026, so you can get on board well ahead of the upcoming forecast season.
Salary and terms of employment comply with the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn principles. We will obtain references from previous employments in connection with the appointment.
The application deadline is Thursday, October 22, 2026 and we will conduct interviews in week 44 .
Applications, CV, certificates and other relevant documentation are sent via the municipality's recruitment system.
If you have any questions, you are very welcome to contact Budget and Analysis Chief Maria Sørensen on telephone 51 49 41 53 – feel free to send a text message, and we will call you back.
We look forward to hearing from you.
