About the job

On the court it’s about putting the ball into play. Off the court it’s about moving people.

At DGI we believe that tennis and padel are much more than games over the net. They are meeting places, relationships and voluntary efforts that make a difference for people every single day. It is here that new communities emerge, and the desire to be active is allowed to grow.

Do you want to help get even more people to find their place in the community? Then this could possibly be your dream job.

We look forward to welcoming a new colleague on January 4, 2027. A team player with a passion for association life and communities, who will be close to the tennis and padel associations and work to develop and strengthen the volunteer environments and get even more people onto the courts.

What does the job look like?

You will be part of an experienced and professionally strong tennis- and padel team of four colleagues. Together the team is responsible for supporting the tennis- and padel associations in DGI West Jutland, DGI North Jutland, DGI East Jutland and DGI Mid Jutland. The team works in close regional collaboration, and your teammates will work from Silkeborg and Aalborg, while your day-to-day will have its starting point in Aarhus.

Together you will build on DGI’s close collaboration with the tennis and padel associations, make the volunteers happy, and set direction for strong, attractive associations that give more people the desire to pick up the racquet and become part of the community. It’s about putting the joy of tennis and padel into play and increasing the desire to come back – as a volunteer or as a player.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

  • Create close relations with tennis- and padel associations and support them in their association and activity development
  • Lead meetings and facilitate development programs with the associations – for example to strengthen association leadership, build bridges, arrange courses or increase volunteers’ engagement
  • Advise association leaders in both operations and development
  • Actively contribute to the collaboration and cross-cutting task solving in DGI East Jutland as well as in the shared tennis- and padel team
  • Support efforts such as Tennis Kids, Tennis in School, Game-Set-Match programs as well as courses and inspiration for coaches and volunteers
  • Contribute to the development of junior padel, coach education, Game-Set-Match programs and establishment of new padel associations

Are you our new teammate?

No one can know everything, but we imagine you can nod yes to most of the competencies below.

We are looking for you who

  • get energy from building relationships and naturally pick up the phone to call associations
  • are motivated by uncovering needs and making things happen
  • have professional insight into tennis and padel and a beating heart for association life and volunteering
  • are in tune with the eastern Denmark tennis- and padel environment and curious about the development of sports
  • understand the opportunities and challenges a volunteer-driven association faces
  • share DGI’s ambition that tennis and padel should be fun, motivating and community-building sports that even more people can be part of throughout life
  • have experience with consultancy work or other relevant development and advisory tasks
  • work in a structured and systematic way and thrive with a high degree of self-management
  • can see the strength in a close and equal team collaboration with other consultants and coordinators

You’ll get this with us

We dare to say that DGI East Jutland is among the best workplaces in Denmark.

We are 44 sports-loving and passionate colleagues who are eager to hear about your weekend experiences over lunch, and at the same time dare to challenge you in professional discussions at the desk. We have a strong professional environment based on collegial sparring, team collaboration and task sharing.

A healthy community is important to us, and we use every opportunity to strengthen it. For example, we have one hour of paid employee exercise together once a week, which brings smiles – and often also sweat on the brow.

With us there is a lot of influence on your own tasks within the agreed framework, and the job is flexible regarding the planning of working hours. It provides opportunities for balance and a good balance between work and private life, so we can be present and strong in both places.
