About the job
Do you want to lead the establishment of a completely new nursing home and create the framework for a specialized offer to citizens with complex needs?
Rødovre Municipality is seeking a visionary, relationally strong and action-oriented director for a new nursing home at Slotsherrens Vænge 6. Here you will have a rare opportunity to set the direction, culture, organisation and professional profile from day one.
The nursing home opens on 1 January 2027 and will offer 15 care apartments for residents with complex care and support needs, cognitive challenges and in some cases social issues. At the same time, 14 respite beds will be established at the address, creating a unique professional environment with a focus on high quality, coherent citizen journeys and cross-sector collaboration between the elderly, disability and social sectors.
This is not a role where you take over a well-functioning operation. It is a position for someone motivated to create something new. You will lead the building of the organisation, recruit staff, define the professional direction and create the culture that will carry the house for many years to come.
About the new nursing home
The nursing home will be established in modern premises at Slotsherrens Vænge 6 and organised as an independent unit in the elderly care area, reporting to the head of elderly care. The offering must develop a strong professional profile, where professional approaches are brought together for the benefit of citizens whose needs cross traditional sector boundaries.
The target group will include, among others
· citizens with dementia
· citizens with developmental disabilities and increasing care needs
· citizens with acquired brain injury
· citizens with cognitive challenges and a need for a particularly structured and holistic approach.
What these groups have in common is that citizens often have needs that cross traditional professional areas. Several will have both extensive care needs, cognitive challenges and a need for a structured everyday routine.
The new nursing home will be more than a traditional care home. At the address, 14 respite places are also established for citizens who need temporary 24-hour stays, respite or support for a limited period. The placements should, among other things, support citizens with dementia and their relatives and help ensure that citizens retain as much independence as possible through a care and nursing effort with a rehabilitative approach.
As director you will be responsible for creating a unified house where care apartments and respite places support each other professionally and organizationally, while the individual offerings develop strong professional environments around their respective target groups.
About the position
As director you will have overall responsibility for establishment, operations, finances, quality and leadership. The nursing home will be organised as an independent unit, and to support you in the leadership task the house is staffed with a department head and an administrative coordinator.
This is primarily an establishment assignment.
You will lead the development of a new workplace and create the foundation for the communities, values, forms of collaboration and the professional identity that will characterise the house for many years to come.
At the same time you must ensure a safe and stable start for residents, relatives and employees during a period in which the organization, staff group and resident composition develop simultaneously.
The task includes, among other things
· recruitment and composition of the staff group
· integration and retention of staff who move into the new organisation, as well as recruitment of new competencies for the special profile
· development of the organisation, leadership structure and working procedures
· establishment of a common culture and a strong professional community
· establishment and support of a strong and trusting collaboration with employees, employee representatives (TR), AMR and the MED-organisation
· planning and implementation of moving in and starting the new offerings
· development of the professional profile for both care apartments and respite places
· establishment of collaboration with relatives, volunteers and other partners.
At the same time you will become a central part of the overall leadership team in the elderly care area, contributing to the development of future elderly care in Rødovre Municipality.
Your main tasks will be to
· create a common culture based on the municipality's values and the approach "Together with the citizen"
· develop an organisation where professional competencies are actively used around the citizens
· ensure high quality in care, nursing and healthcare
· ensure good operations, financial management and capacity utilisation
· create well-being, job satisfaction and commitment among staff and leaders
· establish and maintain a well-functioning collaboration with TR, AMR and the MED-organisation
· translate political ambitions and strategic decisions into concrete practice
· develop and support cross-sector collaboration across elderly care, social and disability services
· actively contribute to the development of future elderly care in the municipality.
Your profile
We are looking for a leader who can think strategically and deliver results in practice.
We imagine that you
· have substantial leadership experience in the elderly, social or health sector
· have experience managing managers or larger staff groups
· are health-professionally educated and preferably supplemented with a leadership qualification
· have experience with establishing new offerings, organisational development or major culture and change processes
· have documented experience in creating buy-in during periods of change and uncertainty
· understand work in a politically governed organisation
· can build strong collaborative relationships with employees, TR, AMR and the MED system
· have experience with complex target groups where health and social-pedagogical interventions must work hand in hand
· have strong relational and communication skills
· can balance development, operations and staff well-being in an organisation under development.
As a person you are
· clear and trustworthy
· listening and inclusive
· strategically oriented and yet operationally close
· bold in change and calm in complexity
· good at creating direction, meaning and a sense of community.
We offer
· The opportunity to shape the establishment of a completely new nursing home
