About the job

Do you want to lead the establishment of a completely new nursing home and create the framework for a specialized offer for citizens with complex needs?

Rødovre Municipality is seeking a visionary, relationally strong and action-oriented director for a new nursing home at Slotsherrens Vænge 6. Here you will have a rare opportunity to set the direction, culture, organization and professional profile from day one.

The nursing home opens on 1 January 2027 and will offer 15 nursing home beds for residents with complex care and assistance needs, cognitive challenges and, in some cases, social issues. At the same time, 14 respite places will be established at the address, creating a unique professional environment with a focus on high quality, coherent resident pathways and cross-sector collaboration between the elderly, disability and social sectors.

This is not a position where you take over an already well-functioning operation. It is a position for someone motivated to create something new. You must lead the way in building the organization, recruiting staff, defining the professional direction and creating the culture that will bear the house for many years to come.

About the new nursing home

The nursing home will be established in modern premises at Slotsherrens Vænge 6 and organized as an independent unit within the elderly care area, reporting to the Elderly Care Director. The offering should develop a strong professional profile, where professional approaches are brought together for the benefit of citizens whose needs cross traditional sector borders.

The target group will include

· citizens with dementia

· citizens with developmental disabilities and increasing care needs

· citizens with acquired brain injury

· citizens with cognitive challenges and a need for a specially structured and holistic approach.

Common to the target group is that the citizens often have needs that cross traditional professional areas. Several will have extensive care needs, cognitive challenges and a need for a structured everyday approach.

The new nursing home will be more than a traditional nursing home offer. At the address, 14 respite places will also be established for citizens who require temporary overnight stays, respite or support for a limited period. The places are intended to support citizens with dementia and their

families and contribute to maintaining the citizens’ independence as much as possible through a care and nursing approach with a rehabilitative focus.

As the director you will be responsible for creating a cohesive house where nursing homes and respite places support each other professionally and organizationally, while each offering develops strong professional environments around their respective target groups.

About the position

As director you will have overall responsibility for establishment, operation, finances, quality and leadership. The nursing home will be organized as an independent unit, and to support you in the management task the house will be staffed with a department manager and an administrative coordinator.

This is primarily an establishment task.

You must lead the building of a new workplace and create the foundation for the communities, values, collaboration formats and the professional identity that will characterize the house for many years to come.

At the same time you must ensure a safe and stable start for citizens, relatives and staff during a period when the organization, staff group and resident composition are developing simultaneously.

The task includes, among other things

· recruitment and composition of the staff group

· integration and retention of the staff who follow into the new organization, as well as recruitment of new competences for the special profile

· development of the organization, management structure and workflows

· establishment of a shared culture and a strong working community

· establishment and support of a strong and trusting collaboration with employees, TR, AMR and the MED organization

· planning and execution of moving in and start-up of the new offerings

· development of the professional profile for both nursing home beds and respite places

· establishment of collaboration with relatives, volunteers and other partners.

At the same time you will become a central part of the overall leadership team in the elderly care area, where you contribute to the development of future elderly care in Rødovre Municipality.

Your main tasks will be to

· create a shared culture with the starting point of the municipality’s values and the approach "Together with the citizen"

· develop an organization where professional competences are actively brought into play around the citizens

· ensure high quality in care, assistance and nursing

· ensure good operation, financial management and capacity utilization

· create well-being, job satisfaction and loyalty among employees and leaders

· establish and maintain a well-functioning collaboration with TR, AMR and the MED organization

· translate political ambitions and strategic decisions into concrete practice

· develop and support collaboration across the elderly, social and disability sectors

· actively contribute to the development of future elderly care in the municipality.

Your profile

We are looking for a leader who can think strategically and also deliver results in practice.

We expect that you

· have substantial leadership experience from the elderly, social or health sector

· have experience in leading other leaders or larger staffs

· are health-professionally educated and preferably supplemented with a leadership education

· have experience with establishing new offerings, organizational development or large-scale culture and change processes

· have documented experience in generating engagement during periods of change and uncertainty

· have understanding of working in a politically governed organization

· can build strong collaborative relationships with employees, TR, AMR and the MED system

· have experience with complex target groups where health and social-pedagogical interventions must go hand in hand

· have strong relational and communication skills

· can balance development, operations and employee well-being in an organization under construction.

As a person you are

· clear and trust-building

· listening and inclusive

· strategically oriented and at the same time operationally close

· bold in changes and calm within complexity

· good at creating direction, meaning and belonging.

We offer

· The opportunity to put your mark on the establishment of a completely new nursing home

· A strategically important leadership position with great influence

· A unique opportunity to build culture, organization and professional direction from the outset

· A strong collaboration with engaged leadership colleagues in elderly care

· A municipality with high ambitions for the development of elderly care

· Opportunity to work across professional areas and create new solutions for citizens with complex needs

· Close sparring with Christine Vendel Jensen, Head of Elderly care

· A work environment characterized by trust, integrity, responsibility and curiosity.
