Full Stack Developer for Legal Tech and AI at Kromann Reumert

Do you want to help shape the future of digital legal work? We are seeking a curious and experienced developer who will be part of further developing Legal Tech- and AI-solutions at Kromann Reumert. We work as if we were a startup – and have gathered the competences in a professionally strong environment, where lawyers and the team in Technology & Knowledge develop solutions together. One of our major focus areas is a business-critical Legal Tech- and AI-platform, that is already in operation, but still under strong development. Here, technical choices, domain understanding, stability, security and user experience are closely linked.

Therefore we are looking for a developer who can work end-to-end and take responsibility from data model and backend to frontend, cloud infrastructure, deployment, observability and ongoing product improvements.

About the role

You will become a central part of Technology & Knowledge and will work closely with the Legal Tech & AI-team, the business and the clients. You will have a role where you must both understand the technology in depth and see how your ideas and solutions create value in a daily life with high demands for quality, security, compliance and traceability.

Your main tasks will be

• Further develop and stabilize our business-critical Legal Tech- and AI-platform with a focus on robustness and user needs.
• Work end-to-end with backend, frontend, databases, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and automated testing.
• Build and improve functionality in Laravel, PHP 8.2+, React, TypeScript and PostgreSQL.
• Strengthen the platform's observability, so we can better understand errors, performance, user actions, queues, model calls and costs.
• Contribute to a more mature infrastructure with Docker, Azure, Infrastructure as Code and secure deployment processes.
• Work with LLM integrations in production, including structured responses, retries, caching, error scenarios, testing and cost management.
• Be part of developing our way of working with Agentic-first, where AI tools, automated workflows and developer experience are a natural part of everyday life.

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. The most important is that you have strong technical judgement and a desire to work in a complex domain where technology, law, AI and business come together.

Your profile You fit well into the role if you

• Are a solid systems developer and are motivated by building robust, testable and maintainable solutions – preferably with Laravel and PHP.
• Have experience with modern frontend development, preferably with React and TypeScript, and can translate complex needs into user-friendly solutions.
• Understand relational databases, data modeling and the importance of good data structures – preferably with experience from PostgreSQL.
• Have experience with testing, debugging, performance, stability and continuous improvements.
• Have practical experience with cloud, deployment and automated development processes – or be eager to develop further in that area.
• Understand how queues, background processes and integrations should be designed to handle errors, retries, timeouts and variation in load.
• Thrive working closely with both technical and non-technical colleagues and are curious about AI, Legal Tech and technology in an environment with high requirements for security, quality and responsible use.
• Have experience instrumenting systems with telemetry data – preferably with products like Application Insights, Sentry, Grafana or similar.
• Bonus: You have experience monitoring language models in the cloud – e.g. token usage for various language models.

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you also have experience with

• Development and maintenance of MCP solutions
• Modern identity and access management, e.g., Managed Identity, OIDC-federation between CI and cloud and token handling.
• Complex interactive user interfaces such as node- and tree editors, zoom, pan and technologies like ReactFlow, Cytoscape, elkjs or d3-hierarchy.
• Vector search, embeddings, pgvector, autoscaling of workers with KEDA or similar
