About the job
Do you want to lead the operation of a modern hospital building of approximately 60,000 m² and at the same time ensure safe and secure surroundings for patients and staff in psychiatry?
Aarhus University Hospital (AUH) is seeking an experienced and engaged functional leader for Operations and Safety. We are looking for a leader who has solid experience with the operation of psychiatry buildings and in-depth knowledge of Public-Private Partnership (PPP). You have an understanding of the special requirements that both PPP collaborations and psychiatric hospital buildings place on operations, maintenance, contract management and collaboration with the private operating partner.
Security is a central part of the position. You will be responsible for ensuring the physical framework and coordinating the safety effort in psychiatry at AUH. The position is for you who are motivated by combining strategic leadership with a strong operational understanding, and who thrives in a complex collaboration environment with many stakeholders.
About the position
Operations and Safety is part of the newly established Department of Health and Hospital Planning, which is part of AUH's overall hospital staff.
You will become the head of eight employees with technical, administrative and academic competencies. The unit works closely with the rest of the hospital staff, the hospital's technical departments, service functions, clinical departments, the occupational health and safety organization, corporate staffs and the other hospitals in Region Midtjylland.
As a functional leader you report to the head of Health and Hospital Planning and become part of a well-functioning management team of four leaders, where sparring, development and shared responsibility are a natural part of daily life.
At the same time you will be part of a hospital staff that works purposefully to support the hospital's strategic development, the implementation of the health reform and the development of a more cohesive health system.
Your areas of responsibility
You will have the overall management responsibility for Operations and Safety tasks, including
- operation and contract management of the PPP collaboration around the psychiatry buildings
- coordination and development of safety in psychiatry at AUH and the cross-cutting coordination of the safety area at the region's other psychiatric hospitals
- local administration and building operations in close collaboration with the clinical departments
- contract follow-up and quality assurance of the cleaning provision
- responsibility for joint procurement, furniture and equipment, where functionality and safety go hand in hand
- administration of the Psychiatry's shared company cars
- mail handling and other cross-cutting operational tasks.
We expect
We place emphasis on you being a visible and trust-building leader who can create direction, engagement and followership. You can balance strategic development tasks with a strong understanding of daily operations, and you are motivated by creating solutions together with others.
In addition, we envision that you
- have a relevant higher education
- have documented leadership experience
- have experience with hospital operations, service or facility management – preferably from the psychiatry field
- have insight into or experience with PPP collaborations and the special framework they place on operations, maintenance and renovations
- have understanding of the safety area and the special requirements that apply in psychiatry
- can navigate safely in a large and complex organization with many stakeholders
- work in a structured way and have an eye for quality, economy and development
- can maintain an overview and make good decisions – even when there are many simultaneous agendas.
As a leader with us
We especially emphasize that you
- create clear direction and clear priorities
- give employees responsibility and freedom to succeed
- lead through dialogue, trust and integrity
- develop both employees and the organization
- support strong cross-functional collaboration across the hospital and the region.
We offer
You will have a central leadership position with great autonomy and the possibility to influence the development of an area that has great significance for both patients and staff.
We offer among other things
- a compelling leadership position with significant societal impact
- a strong professional environment with dedicated employees
- close collaboration with both clinical and administrative leadership
- good opportunities for professional and leadership development
- a workplace characterized by collaboration, high professional standards and mutual trust.
