About the job

The Department of Economic and Organized Crime works with VAT and tax evasion, money laundering, fraud, data fraud and many other forms of economic crime. The department primarily consists of police-trained investigators, but also has a few civilian competencies. Your particular knowledge is expected to contribute with quality in task execution – both when you are involved in larger investigations, but eventually also as an independent case handler.

The tasks are adapted to your competences and can for example include,

  • Preparing cases for processing by police professional investigators.
  • Review, enrich and assess reports from the Tax Administration, trustees and similar.
  • Conduct your own investigation and case processing.
  • Prepare written financial summaries, analyses and conclusion reports.
  • Contribute to quality assurance of individual cases.
  • Prepare and participate in the interrogation of reporters, witnesses and suspects.
  • Assist in other investigations where your special knowledge is needed.
  • Assist the prosecution authorities in connection with criminal cases in court.

As an employee in the department you contribute to professionalizing the way Fyns Police handles cases of economic crime overall. You do this by contributing your high expertise to optimizing workflows and continuously ensuring high quality in task execution. You will also become part of a large department where your competencies can be used in other investigations across sections and departments.

We offer a dynamic daily life, where you together with the other employees help make a difference in the fight against economic crime.

We emphasize having a good and down-to-earth work environment and with

  • Strong focus on training and ongoing development.
  • A varied and challenging job in a strong professional environment with an informal atmosphere.
  • Colleagues with a wide range of experiences and specialized competencies from both police-trained and other professional groups.
  • Education and skills development within relevant areas.
  • A flexible work environment, where high well-being is valued, but also an environment where tasks can arise that must be handled at very short notice and at any time of the day or night.
  • Exposure to a wide range of investigations and operational efforts in Fyns Police.

About you

We emphasize that you have the following competencies

  • Relevant education and professional experience.
  • Experience with handling and analysis of financial information from private auditing firms, public control agencies, financial institutions, journalism or similar.
  • Ability to work in a detail-oriented manner, even when you have many tasks in progress at the same time.
  • Maintain an overview and identify and document complex connections in extensive material.
  • Flair and interest for IT solutions in the work.
  • Adaptable and sharp in prioritization.
  • Can work independently, but also enjoy close collaboration across disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to take ownership of both your own and the department's tasks.

You must have your great strength in good cooperation skills and you must see perspectives in ongoing cross-disciplinary collaboration.

You must be able to see yourself in a daily life where the level of detail is high, and where high quality in the work is required for legal certainty.

You must be able to work structured, and you also manage to meet deadlines. You should be able to navigate a politically steered organization where there is great attention and interest in our work without any problems.

Furthermore, it is important that you have good communication skills - both written and spoken. You must be able to translate and share your knowledge with your colleagues, and your written work must be so precise and easy to understand that it can be used as evidence in court.

In the long run you may be considered for the police training as a civilian investigator, which gives limited police authority.
