About the job

Do you want to be part of where the young people are – and make a difference before problems grow?

We are looking for an engaged and robust street-level worker for the Street Team in the Prevention Team. We are looking for you who are passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, prevention and relationship work with young people, and who want to meet the young people where their youth life takes place – at school, on the street, in their spare time, at events and in youth environments.

About the job

The Street Team works in a proactive and preventative way with young people, where the relationship is our most important tool. We create safety and trust through presence, conversations, advice and guidance.

As a street-level worker you will have a varied everyday life, where you among other things work with:

  • outreach street work
  • creating and maintaining relationships with young people
  • collaboration with professional social workers
  • presentations for young people, parents and professionals
  • being curious and reacting to what is happening among the young people.

The work takes place at different times of the day and about every third weekend, when it makes sense. We also have clear frameworks for contact with the young people, so there is room for both work life and private life.

We are looking for someone who

  • has initiative and dares to make contact
  • wants to be where the young people are
  • is passionate about prevention

•

  • is robust and at the same time curious and mentally engaged
  • can maintain calm and overview in challenging situations
  • can work independently and as part of a team
  • is flexible and can work at different times
  • wants to convey and give presentations.

Experience with street-level work, SSP, pedagogy, youth actions or crime prevention is an advantage – but the most important is that you have the desire and ability to build relationships and work preventively.

  • You should be able to walk in through the door – even when you are not invited
  • You should be able to see a group of young people standing on the street and think "I’ll go over to them."
  • You should dare to make the first contact, start the conversation and be curious about what is happening.

We believe that relationships are created by being present.

About the Prevention Team

The team consists of child school counselors, family coaches street-level workers, a SSP coordinator and outreach workers. Our core task is to offer advice and guidance to children, young people and families in vulnerable positions – close to their local environment.

About the Family Department

The Family Department consists of a leader, four team leaders and a couple of professional consultants as well as a broad, dynamic and interdisciplinary group of employees who all work to ensure families, children and young people thrive in their daily lives.

The department is organized as a team into Reception, Team Children, Team Youth, Team Disability and Team Prevention, where this position is anchored.

Our core task in the Family Department is to create positive change and development for the children and young people who are in our professional care for a period. Our work is based on the Children's Act, and we have a strong focus on citizen involvement and a holistic approach.

Our approach in the Family Department

We believe that real involvement of the child, the young person and their families creates ownership and motivation for change. All children and young people are smart in their own lives, and they have abilities and resources that can be supported and developed. We work from a conviction that professional relational competence is a foundation for respectful, inclusive and factual contact.

We actively work with a child-centered view in our policy for children, young people and education. The policy is called EVERYDAY, FRIENDSHIP AND VICTORY. Read more here: Policy for children, young people and education | Fredericia Municipality .

Longer-lasting and sustainable solutions are best achieved when the network and the professionals collaborate on the efforts for the child or young person and their families. Therefore, we actively work with network-inclusive methods and family mediation.
