About the job

Do you have a passion for teaching and for creating an inspiring learning environment where all students thrive and develop? Then you are the person we are looking for at Gandrup School!

We are seeking a skilled and committed colleague who can take on the following subjects and classes:

  • Danish: 6th and 7th grade
  • German: 6th and 8th grade
  • Social studies: 8th grade

You will be an active part of the department’s class team and the academic community, where we work closely together on students’ academic and social well-being.

Structure and view of children – A safe framework for all

To create a safe, predictable and manageable school day, we work across the entire school based on a fixed and uniform lesson structure. This is achieved, among other things, by consistently using pictograms on the board and Time Timers , which give students a visual framework for the instruction.

Gandrup School is also certified UNICEF Rights School . This means that the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and children’s rights are a natural and integrated part of our foundation, culture and pedagogical everyday life. As a new colleague with us, we expect you to actively involve the student’s voice , create space for co-determination and ensure that students feel heard, respected, and as co-creators of their own school day.

General expectations

  • that you have major subject qualifications or equivalent competencies in Danish, German and social studies
  • that you work from the child-centered view “children do well if they can” and master differentiating your teaching so that all students are motivated and challenged
  • that you have relational competence and can engage in close, professional and constructive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and cross-disciplinary partners
  • that you are a professionally grounded team player who thrives in a school in constant development, where sparring and professional learning communities are at the forefront

We offer

  • An exciting and professionally grounded workplace where you join a team of skilled, experienced and engaged colleagues who expect a professional and close collaboration with you
  • A workplace where employees, based on systemic thinking, continuously focus on reflection, analysis, possible hypotheses and problem-solving action plans, which are subsequently evaluated and adjusted
  • A workplace where employees meet the students in a space characterized by recognition and rights-thinking
  • A workplace where employees, based on a curious approach, continually become wiser about how we best support the development of every student
  • A workplace that works from the child-centered view: “Children do well if they can”
  • A workplace where the leadership is active in relation to pedagogical development, guidance and sparring
  • A workplace where you are a meaningful adult who can “make a difference” – we are all mindful of the traces we leave each day
