General manager sought for the gardening team at Universe Science Park

Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for as the daily manager for our gardener team at Universe Science Park.

In Universe Science Park we create experiences that excite children and young people about science, technology and entrepreneurship. Our green areas play a central role in the guest experience and form the framework for the park's many attractions, activities and events.

As the daily manager you will be the one who creates an overview of the daily tasks and ensures that the team knows what needs to be done. You are visible and present in the park, follow up on tasks and help the employees prioritise when new needs arise.

The position is primarily a practical leadership role. You should want to be out in the field with the employees, and you should not be afraid to roll up your sleeves yourself when there is weeding, planting, pruning, maintenance or other practical tasks.

You will have daily responsibility for a gardener team consisting of two landscape gardeners and a park worker. Your most important task will be to create structure and overview in daily life, get the team started well and ensure that the park's green areas are continuously cared for and maintained at a high professional level. In addition you will be part of the park's on-call standby on selected days, including weekends and holidays.

Your responsibilities

• Create an overview of the daily tasks and prioritise what needs to be solved
• Kick off the employees and follow up to ensure tasks are completed
• Actively contribute to the practical execution of gardener work
• Ensure high quality in the daily operations and maintenance of the park's green areas
• Lead, motivate and support the employees in their daily work
• Plan and coordinate tasks with regard to season, guests, events and other operations
• Contribute to the development of the park's green expression with a focus on the guest experience
• Work with biodiversity, sustainability and chemical-free operation
• Contribute to budget follow-up, purchasing and resource planning

Your profile

We imagine that you are a passionate professional with solid experience within horticulture, park operations or landscape maintenance. You thrive mixing daily leadership, planning and practical work, and you are motivated by creating visible results through your team.

• Have solid experience with operation and maintenance of larger green areas or garden facilities
• Possess strong plant science knowledge and understanding of soil, care and planting
