About the job
Do you want to help develop the frameworks for the sustainable construction of the future? And do you thrive in the intersection of professional expertise, politics and legislation? Then you may be our new colleague in the Office for Construction and Housing Legislation in the Ministry of Children, Elderly and Housing.
We are seeking a skilled and engaged generalist who would like to work with some of the central issues in the construction sector. You will become part of an office that works closely with the political decision-making process and has a broad portfolio of tasks within construction policy, legislation and the development of the framework for the construction sector.
You will become part of a young office with both lawyers and generalists, all of whom value open dialogue and humor. In the office we root for each other, and there is a flat structure with an always-open door to both your colleagues and the office head.
The position
As a generalist you will have a versatile everyday life with both independent tasks and tasks solved in close cooperation with colleagues across the department and agency.
Your tasks will predominantly include the following
- Prepare political decision proposals, notes and other material for the minister and the management of the department.
- Drive and coordinate cross-cutting analyses, projects and political initiatives.
- Collaborate with other ministries, municipalities and organizations in the area.
- Contribute to legislative work, including coordinating the preparation of bill proposals and regulations.
- Monitor developments in the construction sector and translate complex professional issues into clear decision bases.
You will have the opportunity to work with both longer development tasks and current political matters. The tasks will therefore continuously change in line with the political agenda.
About you
We imagine that you are a strong generalist with a relevant advanced degree, e.g. cand.scient.pol., cand.scient.adm., cand.scient.soc. or cand.soc. You do not need to have experience from the construction sector – the most important is that you have a good analytical sense, political understanding and a desire to immerse yourself in a complex professional area.
To succeed in the job, you must be…
- analytical. You must be able to analyze complex issues and communicate them clearly and precisely.
- holistic. You have an eye for both the professional and the political dimension of a case.
- strong in writing. You write well and can prepare sharp decision proposals.
- structured. You must be able to create structure and progress in tasks with many stakeholders.
- a team player. You must thrive in collaboration across disciplines.
- curious. You have an interest in legislation and public administration.
- solution-oriented. You must be able to work independently, take responsibility and follow your tasks through to the end.
If you have previously dealt with real estate and/or construction, that is a plus, but it is by no means a requirement for success in the position. We provide thorough training in the area.
It is an advantage if you have experience from the central administration, a agency, a municipality or another politically governed organization, but it is not a requirement.
The Office
You will be part of the Office for Construction and Housing Legislation. The Office for Construction and Housing Legislation handles the legislation for private rental housing, rental of social housing, cooperative housing and owner-occupied flats, as well as the Urban Renewal Act. Construction and Housing Legislation also regulates the framework conditions for construction and the construction industry in Denmark, including through the Building Act and Building Regulations.
