About the job

Can you write sharp notes and precise decision proposals for the management? Are you good at collaborating with colleagues with different professional backgrounds? And do you thrive in a generalist role in a process and development office that is close to the decisions? Then you may be our new colleague.

Cross-cutting tasks close to the decisions

In the Office of Business Development, our main tasks are to manage portfolio management and strategy development in the IT area, to handle development and operation in the IT and process areas, and to develop data products and support local data work.

You will become part of the IT Strategy and IT Governance team, where we primarily work with directorial support and cross-cutting governance in the IT area. We ensure an overview of, among other things, timelines, report on progress and prepare decision proposals for the management. In the office, we work closely with the Tax Administration’s operations units and with our sister agency the Development and Simplification Agency, which is responsible for the technical development of new customs systems. The team consists of ten employees and one deputy head.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • quality-check material and prepare notes and decision proposals for, e.g., the Tax Administration’s management and the Ministry of Taxation and Growth
  • contribute to ensuring that the management is always updated on the status of system-related tasks in various projects and programs
  • coordinate processes, e.g., for the preparation of written material to the management and the ministry
  • participate in relevant meeting forums with representatives from the Tax Administration as well as the Development and Simplification Agency and contribute to coordinating and exchanging information between the two agencies
  • support the office’s head and deputy head in connection with ad hoc tasks.

As part of your onboarding, you will participate in both e-learning, on-the-job training, and possibly other internal training.

Strong communicator with good collaboration skills

We imagine that you have a relevant advanced degree in social sciences, e.g., cand.scient.pol. You may be a recent graduate or have a couple of years of experience from a politically governed organization.

It is essential that you have strong written skills, are structured, and can adapt your communication to different audiences, including the management. Just as important is that you can quickly get into new professional problems and translate professional knowledge into clear written products.

In addition, we attach importance to that you

  • can maintain an overview, even when there are many deadlines and the problems are complex
  • take an analytical approach to your tasks and think logically
  • independently ensure progress in your tasks
  • show engagement, is willing to learn new things, and can operate in a development-oriented organization with ongoing changes
  • have good collaboration skills.

The everyday life in the office is variable and requires that you can work flexibly and structured, share knowledge with your colleagues and deliver high quality despite tight deadlines.

EU reforms customs

In the spring of 2026, the EU reached an agreement on customs reform. The reform constitutes the largest transition in the customs area since the EU customs union was formed in 1968, and entails significant changes for customs handling, customs systems and the use of data. The transition is necessary due to changed trade patterns and a new security policy reality and should contribute to strengthening societal security, while trade across borders should be able to take place as efficiently as possible.

The implementation of the reform runs up to 2034, but the first elements come into force already in 2026 and will entail increased tasks for the Tax Administration. The reform will thus influence development work in the coming years.

We support an international societal task

The Tax Administration has about 800 employees distributed across the country. We come with very different backgrounds and areas of expertise – but we are all driven by participating in an important task, and we are proud of the results we create. In the staff, we work every day ambitiously to support the agency’s core tasks, and we collaborate across the entire organization for constructive solutions.

If you want to collaborate with engaged colleagues and want to help solve an international task that creates value for Denmark and safeguards Danish society, then the Tax Administration is for you. Together we create opportunities across borders.

In the Office of Business Development, you will be part of an office with many different disciplines and perspectives, where sparring, knowledge sharing, and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life. We also place importance on a good social and inclusive community, an informal tone, and a high ceiling.
