About the job

Hornslet School, Stadionvej department, is seeking a teacher with competence in German and Danish for 6th grade. Ideally a trained reading advisor or with experience in this area. This is however not a requirement.

The lower secondary at Hornslet School is housed in a brand new, bright and modern department on Stadionvej. Here project-based learning, strong communities, diversity and collaboration are the guiding values. The building is divided into year-group areas with flexible learning environments for around 350 students from year 6-9. We work in a core team where there is co-teaching and group division. Each teacher teaches one year group and is attached to one team. The department is built together with the gym, and we have access to a multipurpose hall, so the possibilities for activities are many.

About the position

We are looking for a teacher who can teach German, ideally trained and/or with experience in the subject. But German is not everything. Therefore we are also looking for a teacher who can contribute with other subjects and competences for the year group. In addition, we are looking for a teacher who is passionate about working with dyslexic students and can coordinate this effort. We work very cross-disciplinary, and it is important that you can look beyond your own subject competences.

The task of reading guidance calls for guiding colleagues, dyslexia testing, ensuring technical aids and creating a reading culture. You will have two skilled colleagues joining you in this task.

We are looking for a teacher who loves working with children and young people, who can awaken curiosity and motivation and make teaching vivid, relevant and practice-oriented. We also value colleagues who can find the fun and the subtle humor in a busy everyday life.

We believe that all students have the right to be placed in privileged positions, and that is what our learning environments should support.

Perhaps most importantly, we are seeking a teacher who can collaborate closely and professionally with their team colleagues. You will become part of a dedicated staff community where collaboration, development of PBL and student wellbeing go hand in hand.

We are looking for you who

  • Is a trained teacher with subjects or equivalent competences in German and Danish.
  • Possibly is a trained reading advisor or has experience with the task.
  • Thrives in a co-governed team based on responsibility and freedom.
  • Wants to plan and carry out teaching together with colleagues, so that the school day makes sense for the students.
  • Is passionate about relationship work and young people.
  • Is proactive and imaginative.
  • Believes that children do their best every day and gives them the opportunity to show it.
  • Contributes positively to the community and the overall development of the workplace.

At Hornslet School, teaching is something we create together. We work closely across year groups, and we have a strong culture of lifting as a team. Academic standards are high, but we think of learning broadly, creatively and imaginatively, and we know that strong relationships are the foundation for development.

We are a school that dares to think differently, but at the same time we protect structure, classroom management and daily safety. We believe that you can only take pedagogical chances if you have each other’s support, and we have it.

We offer

  • A project-based learning school with high ambitions on behalf of the students.
  • Dedicated colleagues who help and brainstorm with each other.
  • A workplace with room for both seriousness, humor and community.
  • A truly beautiful and aesthetic workplace.

Practical information

The position is full-time. The application deadline is 26 October and we will hold interviews on 28 October from 12:00 and wish to fill the position as soon as possible or by 1 December 2026 at the latest.
