GIS technician/technical designer for Tårnby Forsyning

Are you a GIS ninja and strong in technical drawings? Then you could be our new colleague.

Tårnby Forsyning delivers water, wastewater, district heating and district cooling and works continuously to develop, maintain and document our supply network and facilities. It requires precise and up-to-date GIS data and technical drawings – and that's where you come in.

As a GIS employee you will have a cross-functional role at Tårnby Forsyning and will work with GIS tasks across the company's service areas. You will work closely with our current GIS employee and will have daily contact with, among others, project managers, operations staff and other colleagues with needs for GIS data and technical documentation.

You will have a varied workday, where you will among other things work with recording, updating and quality assurance of our pipeline and asset data. The tasks are carried out in close collaboration with colleagues across the company and with external partners. One of your larger tasks will concern district heating, as we are expanding the district heating network in the municipality over the coming years.

Your tasks

GIS is an important tool across Tårnby Forsyning, and you will therefore support the entire organization with GIS data, map material and technical documentation.

Your core tasks will include

• enter and plot pipeline and asset data based on data and plans from, among others, contractors and other partners
• enter and update relevant project and coverage areas
• quality-assure existing GIS data
• update existing data based on new knowledge about, among other things, pipelines, facilities and locations
• record and maintain relevant information in the GIS system
• review delivered drawing material
• build and maintain metadata
• coordinate GIS data and project areas with relevant colleagues, including extraction of, among other things, address lists and roads
• contribute with GIS expertise and support across the company's supply areas.

We are looking for someone who

Has experience with GIS – particularly QGIS 3.34 and newer versions – and with editing layers as well as setup and updating of maps and map solutions.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the utility sector and technical pipeline and asset data as well as experience with SharePoint and Enterprise Portal or similar documentation platforms.

As a person you work analytically, structured and persistent with an eye for detail and data quality. You take responsibility for your field and can bring your knowledge into play for the benefit of both colleagues and customers.

You communicate well both in writing and orally and are keen to collaborate across disciplines with colleagues and external actors. At the same time you can set clear expectations for partners and thrive in a dynamic everyday where tasks and priorities can change.

Working hours and workplace

The position is normalized to 20-25 hours per week, and your working hours should, after further agreement, be scheduled within our normal hours (8-16 Monday-Thursday and 8-13 Friday). Your daily workplace will be at our office by the waterworks at Gemmas Allé 39, 2770 Kastrup. We also have colleagues at our treatment plant at Kastrup Strandpark 22.

The position is a 2-year project appointment with the possibility of extension. Salary and terms of employment are set in accordance with the relevant organization’s agreement with KL in the area. In addition to the base salary there will be the possibility to negotiate allowances.
