About the job
Are you interested in long shifts, and are you ready to become a respiratory disability helper with me in Rødovre?
So read along!
A little about me and my interests
I am 31 years old and live by myself in Rødovre. I currently study communication at CBS and do board work as a volunteer with the Danish Cancer Society and Danish Disability Organizations.
I am outgoing and spend a lot of time with family and friends. Food and cozy evenings out in town with friends mean a lot to me, so at times you should be ready to sit by yourself and be available if I need help elsewhere than at home. At other times I go to concerts or to bars, where the music and the festive atmosphere make you have to be more on.
Before every trip I have made it a habit to check in, so both I and the helper know what is going to happen and how.
When I am at home I typically sit at my computer and play, work or watch movies, and the times of day when routine tasks are done, or when driving, I like to chat and laugh.
For me it is important to have a close relationship with my helpers, so you should be ready for a conversation, and you should be able to take feedback, both praise and critique. The same applies the other way around.
Expectations and tasks
It is expected that you together with the rest of the team are willing to help to fulfil the shift plan. A flexible helper team means I can live with few disruptions, and that means you and your colleagues have the opportunity to swap a shift if you wish.
On a daily basis you will help me with everything, and therefore we will spend a lot of time together. For that reason I need you to be outgoing by default, and to have a positive and cheerful attitude.
When you are on, the type and amount of work will vary, so you must be able to adapt. This applies both to the days with a lot to do, and the days when I have no plans.
One type of task is personal care. If you have experience with it, that is an advantage. If you do not have experience with it, you should be prepared to be trained in it.
It is not a requirement that you have respiratory experience, as you will be trained side-by-side on accompanying shifts. The training ends with an evaluation day at RCØ (Respiratory Center East Glostrup Hospital), where your competencies are approved, and you receive authorization to work as a respiratory disability helper.
In the job as a respiratory helper you will be paid as unskilled.
