About the job

About the job

You will become part of our brand department, where you primarily support the production of FDM's print magazine and at the same time contribute to the design of fdm.dk. You work closely with our magazine graphic designer, digital designer and digital project managers – and you will have a daily life where magazine tasks, design system and creative side projects alternate.

It is a cross-disciplinary role with about 60% magazine and print, 20% digital design on fdm.dk and 20% for “design on top” – illustration, animation and AI tools. Together with colleagues across the house, your day-to-day will offer:

  • Layout and production of the magazine, the members' magazine Motor and Motor Classic in InDesign and the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ensure quality throughout the print workflow – from proofreading and layout to preparation for printing
  • Assist the magazine graphic designer in large productions and be back-up in peak periods
  • Design and further develop solutions for fdm.dk together with our digital designer in Figma
  • Contribute to maintenance and development of the design system and UI components
  • Create creative input, illustrations and possibly animations across print and digital
  • Use and explore AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, Claude) as a natural part of the design work

About you

We imagine that you have a few years of experience as a designer and thrive in the intersection between print and digital design. You have an eye for both the aesthetic and the practical, and you are motivated to create solutions that work in reality, whether it is in a magazine, on a digital platform or in a creative side project.

You don’t need to know everything from day one, but we hope you can recognise yourself in several of the points here:

  • You have mid-level experience as a designer with a mixed print and digital background
  • You are strong in InDesign and the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
  • You have solid print understanding and knowledge of printing, paper, colors and layout
  • You have experience with magazine production and larger layout tasks
  • You work confidently in Figma with UI design, prototyping and design systems
  • You are curious about AI tools in the design flow – and preferably have concrete experience using them
  • You have illustration, animation or motion design in your toolkit, which is a plus

About the department

You will become part of a newer department that aims to strengthen FDM’s brand through increased presence and relevance. The department consists of seven colleagues covering UX, digital and graphic design and production, as well as marketing and branding. The department is responsible for FDM's visual identity across channels, where there is especially work on a new, revitalized website that you will also become part of.
