About the job

Do you want to make a real difference for young people who need stable adults, clear frameworks and new opportunities?

To strengthen the treatment environment at the Roden ward, we are seeking engaged social pedagogues who want to help create a safe, developmental, and meaningful everyday life for young people with complex challenges.

With us, you will become part of a strong professional community where relationships, development, and collaboration go hand in hand. We believe that the best results are created through professional reflection, trust, and good collegiality – and we invest in both our young people and our staff.

Why you should choose Roden

With us you will become part of a workplace where we succeed together. We offer

  • a thorough introductory programme with a mentor
  • high professional standards, sparring, and reflection in everyday work
  • engaged colleagues who help each other and great influence on pedagogical practice
  • ongoing skills development as well as opportunities for post- and further education
  • opportunities to develop strong competencies in environmental therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), LA2, ART, motivational interviewing (MI), NADA, and MOVE
  • an active workplace with modern facilities that provide many opportunities to create meaningful activities together with the young people
  • a good and affordable lunch scheme
  • salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable agreement, including local pay.

Our professional foundation

Roden is a partially closed unit at Grenen-Glesborg with room for six youths aged 12 to 18. The young people may be placed due to criminal activity, substance abuse or behavior, and several may have developmental disorders or mental illnesses.

We work from three core principles

  • Careful relationships – we take responsibility for the relationship and create security
  • Acknowledging approach – we meet the young people with respect, curiosity, and understanding
  • Structure – we create predictability through clear frameworks and a meaningful everyday life

The principles form the framework for a structured, relationship-based and affirmative approach, where everyday life is actively used as part of the pedagogical work and supports each young person’s development, well-being, and social skills based on resources and needs.

We believe that all young people have potential for development when they are met with professionalism, clarity, and persistent adults.

Your everyday life

As a social pedagogue, you will be an important part of the young people's everyday life. You create secure relationships, plan activities, work with each young person’s development goals, and collaborate closely with colleagues, teachers, psychologists, and workshop staff on a holistic approach.

We believe that development occurs through meaningful relationships and activities. Therefore, we have good facilities such as a multi-purpose hall, fitness, climbing wall, e-sports, MTB track, playing fields, and a shelter area, which provide many opportunities to create positive experiences together with the young people.

We are looking for you if

You are educated as a social pedagogue and eager to work with young people with complex challenges.

We emphasize that you

  • create safe relationships and clear boundaries
  • work calmly and structurally – even when everyday life is unpredictable
  • are curious about your own practice and contribute to collective learning
  • thrive in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • have a driving license.
  • understand that you work with vulnerable citizens and that you can handle sensitive information

Experience with at-risk youths, developmental disorders, mental illnesses, substance abuse, LA2, conflict management or Sensum Bosted is an advantage but not a requirement.

Application deadline: November 15, 2026

Interviews: Will be held on November 23, 2026 at Hemmedvej 1, 8585 Glesborg. Upon arrival, please report to the administration, where you will be shown to the waiting room.
