Danish teacher and reading guide for early years and lower (grades) at Bjørnehøjskolen

Bjørnehøjskolen is seeking a teacher for a full-time position in early years and lower middle. You will be an important part of a school where we work purposefully with calm, structure and relationships – and where we take both students' learning and each other's job satisfaction seriously.

You will become part of a close collaboration among the pedagogical staff, where we prioritize many hours in the classroom with two adults. We have PPR close to the teaching, and they continuously contribute with sparring on improvements in the classroom environment.

In addition, you will be part of a two-person team that handles the school’s reading guidance and work with dyslexic students. Together you share the academic responsibility for developing the reading environments at Bjørnehøjskolen.

The most important competencies we are looking for

• You are a strong classroom leader with clear, calm and supportive classroom management
• You have strong relational skills and can create safe, inclusive learning communities
• You have a major in Danish and a desire to teach the subject in both early years and lower middle
• You thrive in cross-disciplinary collaboration and want to work closely with teachers, pedagogues and PPR
• You may have relevant further education as reading or dyslexia guide. Or want to take it

Your central daily tasks

Your primary task will be teaching Danish in early years and lower middle. In addition you will have other teaching tasks according to your competences and interests.

You will join year- and subject-teams where you jointly plan the teaching, develop courses and create a clear through-line for the students. A significant part of your work will also be daily contact with students and parents, where you with clarity, presence and good dialogue help secure a strong school-home collaboration.

In collaboration with colleagues and PPR you will help develop the classroom environment so that all children have the best possibilities to participate actively in teaching – both academically and socially.

The position is 37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027.

Employment is conducted in accordance with the applicable agreement for teachers between KL and the Danish Teachers’ Association, as well as Gribskov Municipality’s salary policy. The agreement can be read at www.kl.dk

In connection with the hire we will obtain both a child certificate and a criminal record certificate.
