Happy boy who loves animals seeks support for play and emotional regulation

Do you have experience with children with ADHD and a desire to create good afternoons filled with play, activities and presence? You will be a regular support for a happy 5-year-old boy, who loves animals, outdoor life, drawing, puzzles and games – and who needs your help to manage emotions and the many impressions of daily life.

About the task

You will be a permanent support for the boy in the afternoon, where your task is to create a safe and predictable framework around your time together. He has a high energy level and can become overwhelmed by demands and many impressions, and therefore he needs support to manage his emotions and find back to calm.

You can base your activities on what he loves. It could be a walk in nature, where you look at animals, play in the sandbox or find other active activities. When more immersion is needed, you can draw, lay puzzles or play games. He is also very interested in dinosaurs, which you can take advantage of by including in your activities.

Your role is to be clear and predictable, support him in transitions and help him regulate his emotions without pressuring him. You should be able to follow his initiatives while at the same time creating the structure he needs. It may also be relevant to pick him up from kindergarten.

About you

The most important thing is that you have experience with children with ADHD and with supporting children who may have difficulty regulating their emotions and handling many impressions.

You meet the boy with calmness and clarity and can create structure and predictability around your time together. At the same time you are keen to actively participate in his interests and can adapt the activities to what he needs on any given day.

Working hours

The position is 6 hours every other week.

You work in even weeks

Monday 14:00–17:00

Tuesday 14:00–17:00

Outside office hours there is always a staffed on-call phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement concluded between FOA and Dansk Erhverv.
