About the job

Head of Visitation and Assistive Device Depot - a strategic leadership role with wide reach

Do you want to lead an area that has great significance for citizens' everyday lives, and at the same time help shape the development of future welfare?

We work every day to ensure citizens' legal protection, create cohesive processes, and find solutions that contribute to citizens' quality of life, rehabilitation, and self-reliance – and you can have the opportunity to lead the work.

Why you should apply for the job

  • You will play a central role in the development of the elderly and authority area at a time when new legislative frameworks and new ways of thinking about welfare create exciting opportunities.
  • Here you get a leadership job where you are close to operations and have the opportunity to influence bigger decisions. The path to the political level is short – your opportunity for influence is real.
  • You will become the leader of a well-functioning area with two daily managers and 40 skilled employees who take responsibility and work independently, so you can focus on the strategic development of the area.
  • And you will have the opportunity to make a difference for many citizens through the frameworks and decisions you help shape.
  • It is a job with great influence, many collaboration interfaces, and the potential to leave a clear footprint.
  • You will become part of an ambitious and helpful leadership team in Health and Rehabilitation, where we consult with each other, develop together, and raise tasks collectively.

Your strengths and why they are needed

You build relationships that endure. You are curious about other people's perspectives and invest in collaboration before disagreements arise. You take the initiative, create connections, and bring people together around common solutions. You can invite to and insist on collaboration. It comes naturally to you to work across professional areas and organizations because you know that the best results for citizens are created in cooperation – not in silos.

You provide direction in a complex daily life. When many tasks, considerations, and agendas must be balanced, you help others see what matters most. You do not create direction through control, but by formulating clear goals and meaningful frameworks. Therefore others experience you as a leader who makes it easier to succeed.

You pursue development all the way to the finish line. You are motivated by improving workflows and creating results that can be felt in everyday life. At the same time, you know that good ideas only create value when translated into practice. You help the organization stay focused, prioritize, and complete the initiatives that are started.

You remain calm in the authority role. You thrive on navigating the crosscurrents between legislation, professional assessments, financial frameworks, and citizens' wishes. You do not need to have all the answers in advance, but you can contribute to visitation making well-founded decisions. Even when the dilemmas are complex.

You develop people through trust and coaching. You believe that skilled employees and leaders grow when they are met with both support and constructive challenge. Therefore you are present in your leadership and genuinely concerned with others' development. You create security while helping people and teams move forward.

You see finance as a part of the core task. You are not preoccupied with finance for its own sake. Instead you are motivated by creating coherence between professional ambitions, citizens' needs, and the resources available. You can translate numbers and budgets into priorities that make sense for both staff, leaders, and the organization. When visitation moves to activity-based financial management, that ability is absolutely essential.

Your background

You have experience leading in a politically governed organization and can navigate the interaction between professionalism, economy, and political goals.

You likely have a background in visitation, holistic care, the training area, authority areas, or related municipal functions. But perhaps you come from another start and still have the right competencies.

The most important is not your basic education. You may have a health care background, but other backgrounds can also lead to you being ready for the job.

We are well on our way – and you can help us move forward

Visitation is the entry to some of the municipality's most important efforts under the Elderly, Health and Social Services Acts. Here we meet citizens early in their process and help ensure they receive the right support at the right time.

In recent years, the organization has been developed significantly. Employees now work more closely across disciplines, and visitation is organized to support holistic care teams.

We have actively worked with the Elderly Act mindset and are well equipped for what is coming. You will have the opportunity to further develop an organization that is already well on its way. Now you will lead the next step, where visitation decisions have even greater impact on the municipality's finances.

We have deliberately organized ourselves so that employees work broadly across tasks rather than in narrow specialisms. We want to develop this versatility further and strengthen holistic case handling even more.

For many citizens, visitation is the first entry to the municipality. You must help us focus on being responsive and delivering the best possible service to citizens that is also consistent and fair.

The two daily managers are experienced and ensure strong operations and professional leadership close to the employees. They are well aligned with each other and prioritize time to be so. They now seek a leader who can strengthen outward collaboration and meet them with a coaching and trust-based leadership style.

A leadership job with wide reach

As head of Visitation and Assistive Device Depot, you will exercise leadership at several levels.

You will actively participate in the strategic development of Health and Rehabilitation. And you will build relationships across the organization and with external partners.

Visitation collaborates, among other things, with Holistic Care, Disability Advisory, the Employment area, the region, and a number of other actors around citizens' processes.

Therefore we seek a leader who can both invite collaboration and hold on to shared solutions when interests and perspectives differ.

You will also be an important player in the implementation of the Elderly Act and in the continued development of a more holistic approach for citizens.

Your main tasks

You will, among other things,

  • lead through two competent team leaders and support their continued development
  • create direction and coherence across visitation tasks
  • ensure high professional quality and lawful decisions
  • further develop collaboration with the municipality's other areas and external partners
  • contribute to the implementation of the Elderly Act and other changes in the area
  • establish frameworks for responsible financial management and support the transition to activity-based economics
  • balance operations, development, and finances in a changing reality
