Moment Professionals is recruiting on behalf of Bravida a department head for the district heating department in Køge. We are looking for a business‑oriented leader with knowledge of pipe and plumbing work who can run a department as if it were its own business, but as an integrated part of Bravida. The role suits you if you are motivated for people management, to represent the department to the district heating companies, and to have full responsibility for the results, with the regional director as sparring partner and day‑to‑day leader.

Your daily life in Bravida

You will be responsible for Bravida’s district heating department in Køge with 12 office-based staff and about 55-60 plumbers and earthworks workers. The department carries out framework agreements and projects for district heating companies involving earth, excavation, piping, and metalworking. You report to the regional director for the Infrastructure Region and join the region’s management team, where cross‑regional initiatives are decided.

A large part of your time goes to colleagues: development, retention, and being present for both office staff and fitters at the Køge office and occasionally on projects. There is also a lot of time spent on bids and nurturing customer relationships, where you visit existing and potential new customers, price tasks, and decide how a setup should look when the department wins a job. Additionally, you focus on developing the business and working with strategic initiatives as part of the Infrastructure leadership.

You have full results and operations responsibility for the department: customers, bids, execution and staffing. The operation of individual cases lies with the project manager and project managers, but you are close enough to know whether the projects are run efficiently, and whether add‑on and change works are followed up. Behind you are the region’s staff functions in HR, Finance, HSE and bid writing.

We value visible leadership in Bravida and expect you to be in the Køge office on weekdays. The customers are professionally skilled people in district heating, and the framework agreements are built on relationships that you cultivate together with the project managers, so each customer has multiple layers of relationships in Bravida.

Additionally you will participate in Bravida’s internal leadership training and gain a network of leaders across Bravida Denmark.

To be successful in the role…

…you do not need to have held the title of department head or led staff for many years. The most important is that you understand pipe and plumbing work in district heating, that you can run a business, and that you are motivated by people management. In addition you take pride in:

• caring for your people and speaking openly.
• being a close sparring partner for our customers, including visiting them systematically and advising on solutions
• knowing the numbers in the department and knowing where the cases are successful and why some projects may be challenging.
• quality assurance and closing of cases.
• allocating the hours the task requires and being present in the department.

To succeed you have

• experience as department head or business owner within district heating, or an experienced project manager or project leader from district heating contracting who has had financial responsibility and leadership and is ready to lead a department.
• an understanding of pipe and plumbing work in district heating, including quality assurance and testing, and can speak technically with employees and customers.
• leadership experience with office staff or fitters and is motivated by leading people.
• not afraid to express yourself in spoken and written Danish.

It is advantageous if you

• have had full results responsibility for a department with budget, forecasts and staffing.
• have sold and maintained framework agreements with district heating companies and have a network in the industry in Zealand.
• have experience pricing earth, excavation and piping work or building a bidding function.
• live within about an hour’s drive from Køge.
