About the job

Do you want to lead the operation and development of critical infrastructure and help ensure that the Øresund Link operates safely, robustly and efficiently – today and for many years to come? Then perhaps you are the person we’re looking for.

On behalf of Øresundsbron we are seeking an experienced Department Head who will have overall responsibility for operation, maintenance, reinvestment and development of a number of the region’s most complex infrastructure facilities.

A role with great responsibility

As Department Head you will have the overall responsibility for operation, maintenance and development of the Øresundsforbindelsen’s facilities, including preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance. You will be responsible for staff and operation and maintenance budgets and a central role as client and purchaser, where you ensure professional collaboration with suppliers and take responsibility for the deliveries that support safe and efficient operation.

At the same time you will play a central role in the strategic prioritizations, where you set direction and contribute to the ongoing development of both the organization and the infrastructure.

Your primary areas of responsibility will include, among others

  • Lead and develop the department and create clear direction and engagement.
  • Ensure stable and safe operation and the continued development of the facilities.
  • Take responsibility for finance and prioritization across operations, maintenance and development.
  • Drive larger projects and development initiatives and ensure progress.
  • Work strategically and data-driven with focus on quality, risk and long-term solutions.
  • Ensure strong collaboration across the organization and with relevant external partners.

This is what we are looking for

We imagine you have

  • A relevant higher education , for example as an engineer, combined with solid leadership experience from a technical, operations-oriented or infrastructure-heavy organization.
  • Experience with operation, maintenance and development of critical infrastructure or complex technical facilities as well as larger projects and reinvestments.
  • Experience with finance and strategic prioritization , including budget responsibility and the ability to balance operation, development and long-term solutions.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management and the working environment as well as experience in leading strong professional environments.

You achieve results through others

You will lead a strong professional environment where employees’ skills and engagement are crucial. We imagine that you:

  • Are clear and trust-building and create direction, engagement and ownership.
  • Are decisive and responsible – even when situations are complex.
  • Are visible and presenceful and are motivated by developing people and organizations.
  • Are collaborative and development-oriented and create a culture characterized by learning and continuous improvements.

A workplace with a very particular complexity

The Øresund Connection is far more than a bridge. It is complex, critical infrastructure where engineering, mechanics, roads, tunnels and buildings must work together – every single day.

It is precisely the complexity that makes the role special. Here you get the opportunity to work with issues where there is rarely a simple solution, and where technology, people, finances, safety and long-term development must be thought together.

The bridge was originally built to last 100 years, but the ambition now is to extend its life to 200 years. That requires rethinking, strong professionalism and long-term decisions.

As Department Head you will have a unique opportunity to lead an organization that every day helps secure the connection between Copenhagen and Malmö – and at the same time set the direction for how it should operate for many decades to come.

Does that sound like the right challenge for you? We look forward to hearing from you.
