Do you want to be part of a strong leadership team at Søndermarksskolen?

Are you looking to create the best development opportunities for children? Are you passionate about high professional standards, well-being and inclusive learning communities? And do you want to become part of an ambitious and well-functioning leadership team that works closely together on the school's development?

Then perhaps you are the one we are seeking as the new department head for kindergarten to grade 5 at Søndermarksskolen.

At Søndermarksskolen we have high ambitions on behalf of all students. We strive for good academic results and high well-being through strong communities, clear leadership and skilled staff. We believe that all children do as well as they can, and we work purposefully to create opportunities for participation for all students.

Søndermarksskolen is a public school with 420 pupils, a well-functioning SFO and more than 45 engaged staff. You will become part of a closely collaborating leadership team consisting of the principal, head of upper grades, SFO manager and head of the special classes.

About the position

As department head you will have the primary responsibility for kindergarten to grade 5 with responsibility for academic leadership, pedagogical development and daily operations.

You will become a visible and approachable leader who is close to practice and at the same time can connect the school's strategic goals with daily teaching and pedagogical efforts.

We work as a single leadership team with shared responsibility for the school's operations and development. Therefore you will also have cross-organizational tasks where we bring each other's competences into play.

The most important task for our leadership team is, together with the staff, to create good, safe and development-oriented frameworks for students' learning, well-being and formation.

We have a particular focus on

  • strong academic results for all students
  • strengthening Danish and reading in close collaboration with the school's reading advisor
  • development of inclusive learning communities
  • bridge-building and collaboration with daycare institutions and the transition to school
  • early preventive actions and interprofessional collaboration

We are looking for a leader who

  • is trained as a teacher and preferably has experience from the early years and/or middle grades
  • has experience with or an interest in leadership in the public school system
  • has strong relational skills and builds trust through dialogue and visibility
  • has solid didactic and pedagogical understanding
  • is passionate about inclusive learning environments and opportunities for participation for all children
  • can analyze data and translate knowledge into practice and development
  • is strong in collaboration with students, parents and staff
  • recognises the value of interprofessional collaboration, including with PPR and external partners

We offer

  • an attractive leadership position with great influence on the school's development
  • an experienced, ambitious and well-functioning leadership team
  • capable and dedicated staff with a focus on the core mission
  • a school with high ambitions for both well-being and academic results
  • a workplace with room for sparring, development and innovation
  • good opportunities for professional development and leadership training

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
