Head of Department for Adult Disability Favrskov Municipality

Are you, like us, passionate about working with adults who have a developmental disability and about leading the important task, you can now become part of the team! We are looking from December 1, 2026 for a new head of department for Adult Disability in Favrskov Municipality.

We are seeking a head of department who looks across areas and professional groups and always prioritizes a holistic approach in collaboration with the citizen. We are seeking a leader who can see solutions and opportunities, and who can create good frameworks for the staff so that the citizen's wishes, hopes and dreams can always be at the forefront. The residential facilities Hindhøjen and Fuglebakken

You will become the leader for two residential facilities - at Hindhøjen and Fuglebakken in Hinnerup.

At the Fuglebakken residential facility there are eight residents.

The Hindhøjen residential facility consists of three houses with eight residents in each house. The residents are aged 18-83 years and need support and guidance to varying extents - social-educational support is provided under the Social Services Act §85. In total for the two residential facilities there are 25 skilled and engaged employees.

Your office is located at Hindhøjen, but there will be meeting activity, etc. at Fuglebakken and in Hadsten, where our administration and other residential facilities in Adult Disability are located.

You must have a systematic and structured approach to administrative tasks, as well as a focus on appreciative communication in interaction with citizens, relatives, employees and colleagues. You must give high priority to the occupational health effort and, in collaboration with your staff, help support this. You will meet two employee groups who are ready to cooperate to ensure a daily life with good working environment and a strong focus on citizens' well-being.

In daily practice the managerial task is supported by a full-time coordinator and a work-time planner. Part of a leadership community

As head of department in Adult Disability you must be able to organize and lead tasks and initiatives so that employees and citizens gain as much autonomous decision-making authority as possible. You must be able to translate the area's vision and strategies so that a shared direction, mindset and followership are created for our joint task solving. You must be able to formulate measurable development goals and strategies at both a common and local level.

You must, in collaboration with your area manager and financial staff, have insight and overview of your own budget so that there is secure financial operation.

You will become part of a leadership team of five department heads, a team characterized by long tenure both as leaders and in Favrskov Municipality. Who are you?

• You have a social-pedagogical or other relevant social- or health-related education.
• You have experience with leadership.
• If you do not already have a leadership education, you should be willing to participate in a diploma program in leadership
• You have knowledge of the specialized social sector and have experience from Adult Disability and/or from social psychiatry
• You have knowledge of the target group and professional approaches
• You have a flexible and appreciative approach to the work and to the staff and leadership colleagues you collaborate with
• You have the ability to delegate and practice distributed leadership
• You can exercise inclusive and presence-based leadership, both close and at a distance
• You see relatives as a resource that is important for the citizen

There will be two interviews: First interview will be held on Friday 6 November, and second interview will be held on Monday 16 November. In between the interviews there will be a test, and the feedback on the test is Wednesday 11 November.
