About the job

Are you passionate about both daily operations and longer-term development processes? Are you good at creating structure and strong relationships, taking responsibility and meeting people with trust and fairness?

If yes, then perhaps you are the person we are looking for as our new department head for the middle level.

A bit about us

Lyreskovskolen is facing an organizational change, which means a change in our current division, as we move from being divided into a primary school (grades 0-5) and a lower secondary (grades 6-9) to a division with a primary, middle, and upper school.

Lyreskovskolen has about 450 students, including a special center with about 34 students. The total staff comprises 50 teachers and pedagogues, three department heads, a school principal, and 8 service staff. We are happy to share our large professional knowledge, good humor, and many experiences.

The management team is relatively new. The team is characterized by commitment, curiosity, and a desire to create a common direction for the school. There is a focus on building trust and strong internal collaboration, while management works to be visible and approachable for staff, students, and parents. As a new department head, you will have the opportunity to become an important part of this work and help shape both the good leadership collaboration and the school's continued development.

A bit about the position

We are looking for a department head for the middle level who can combine pedagogical leadership, staff leadership, administrative leadership, and organizational development. Someone who can handle both daily operations and longer-term development processes such as working to make the school's vision come alive. You must be able to create structure and overview in everyday life, while having an eye for how the organization can be developed.

We therefore seek a leader who thrives being close to staff and students, but who is also motivated by administrative tasks, planning, coordination, follow-up, and organizational structure.

Tasks

Your responsibilities will include, among other things

  • operational tasks, e.g., in relation to the school year's planning
  • pedagogical and didactic sparring with the middle level staff
  • personnel management
  • being visible in everyday life
  • parent collaboration
  • meetings with internal and external partners

About you

We place emphasis professionally on you

  • are a trained teacher
  • have experience as a leader or have leadership potential
  • have a leadership education or a desire to pursue further education in leadership
  • have a solid understanding of the core task of public schools and the pedagogical and didactic tasks.

Furthermore, it is advantageous if you are a leader who naturally moves between the relational, the pedagogical, the administrative, and the strategic.

Personally, we value that you are

  • organized
  • responsible
  • solution-oriented
  • relationship-building
  • fair
  • optimizing
