Head of Education at Rødkilde Gymnasium

One of our heads of education has become vice-rector, and we are therefore seeking a new head of education for employment on 1 December 2026.

We are looking for a committed and development-oriented head of education who can work with operations and development with great attention to both quality, well-being and the working environment. As head of education you will be part of a management group consisting of the principal, vice-principal, 3 heads of education of whom one is also IB coordinator and a chief financial officer, where competencies, courage, trust, helpfulness and humor are central.

Our management foundation is based, among other things, on the ideas of psychological safety as contributing to creating an organizational culture with the courage to innovate and act. It is a prerequisite that all members of the management team loyally perceive themselves and act as part of a team.

At Rødkilde we are focused on creating high professional development for the students and believe that one of the gymnasium's most important tasks is to make the students curious and motivated for further professional development and give them the courage to be active and participatory democratic citizens. This means, among other things, that we focus on involving the students and making academically grounded collaboration with the surrounding community.

We believe that an important parameter for creating competent students is that our staff thrive in their work and want to contribute to the school's continued development.

The job includes, among other things

•

Pedagogical and professional leadership, which contributes to continued development and strengthening of Rødkilde's profile in collaboration with management and the other staff at Rødkilde.

•

Personnel management for a group of teachers, classes and subjects.

•

Participate as a management representative for Rødkilde in selected external committees and/or projects.

•

Retention and continued development of external collaborations – both nationally and internationally.

•

Subject and pedagogical development and project management in collaboration with internal committees and/or coordinators at the school.

•

Carrying out operational tasks in collaboration with the school's administrative staff.

•

Being a visible leader who naturally participates in the school culture at Rødkilde.

As a rule, management tasks are distributed among the members of the management team when we know the new head of education's competencies.

Competencies for you, the applicant;

Experience with management or management-like roles, preferably from the upper secondary school sector.

•

Passionate about driving good and professional leadership with an inclusive, motivating and appreciative leadership style.

•

Works systematically and has impact.

•

Can initiate as well as complete tasks.

•

Keeps deadlines under control

•

Is a loyal team player who is not afraid to put themselves on the line.

•

Teaching competence within the gymnasium's subject range

In addition, it is an advantage, but not a prerequisite, that the head of education holds a master's degree in pedagogy or leadership.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment is in accordance with the Circular on the agreement on “Employment of managers at institutions within teaching and education in the Ministry of Education's area” of 28 June 2019.

There is attached an attractive pension scheme to the position.

Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record and a clean child certificate at the time of taking up the position.
