In Vejle Municipality we work to strengthen operations, governance and development in close collaboration with the professional areas. As head of Effect and Governance, you will be responsible for a team that creates knowledge, drives development projects and supports decisions with significance for both citizens, leaders and the organization.

The leadership task requires that you can create clear frameworks, prioritize and follow up, while giving employees space to use their professional skills and develop. We place emphasis on potential and willingness to learn, so you do not need many years of leadership experience. The most important is that you have the courage to develop both tasks, collaborations and your own leadership.

Your tasks will include

• Lead and develop a team of about 12 employees who work with financial analysis, process optimization and development of future welfare solutions.
• Contribute with professional sparring and facilitation of professional discussions across the team.
• Drive larger strategic and cross-cutting projects, where you frame the task, assemble the right team and ensure progress.
• Establish good collaboration with professional areas and partners through clear dialogue about purpose, roles and expectations
• Develop and implement new approaches to use data and analyses as a basis for improving both operations and strategic decisions.
• Drive the development and optimization of processes and methods that make Vejle Municipality more efficient and well-functioning.

• Can translate complex data into clear and usable decision bases that support the development of the municipality and the services it provides.
• Have political acumen and understand the terms and requirements that shape work in a municipal organization.

As Head of Effect and Governance you will have the opportunity to influence development and financial governance in one of Denmark’s largest municipalities. You will become part of an ambitious department with high professional standards, close collaboration and tasks that matter for both operations, leadership and political decisions.

You will get a clear management space and mandate to set the direction for both the team’s tasks and development. There is freedom to think creatively, and a clear expectation that you translate ideas into solutions that work in practice.

You will report to the Head of Staff and get close sparring on priorities, hard choices and your own development as a leader. You will also become part of a small leadership group where we help and challenge each other and maintain a direct and informal tone. We believe that good leadership is about delivering results and creating buy-in, and about being authentic in your leadership role with room for a work-life balance that fits with the rest of life.
