Head of Research

Do you want to lead the overall research at UC SYD, and can you take the lead in creating a stronger link between research, initial education and continuing and further education? Are you passionate about helping to develop the major welfare professions, and can you put this into play in a way that strengthens UC SYD's research position?

With the overall responsibility for UC SYD's research, you as Head of Research in Southern and South Jutland's largest educational and knowledge institution, have the opportunity to shape the development of a number of societally important and welfare-critical professions.

You will become part of an organization that is developing well and undergoing change. With vision and strategic sense you will realize and develop UC SYD's research efforts in a way that contributes to fulfilling the strategic focus areas in Strategy 2030 – Education with head, hand and heart , and that helps create a closer link between research, initial education and continuing and further education. At the same time your focus should be on strengthening external collaboration and on ensuring that our research practices continue to support and develop the professions our educations target.

In addition to the responsibility for the overall research area you will have the daily people leadership of about eight research program directors and the head of UC SYD's library. What unites the staff is that they are highly educated, self-directed knowledge workers with a high degree of professional insight and experience. In your daily leadership your primary role will be to ensure that competencies are actively utilized as well as ensuring coherence and coordination across the research programs and activities.

We expect that you have a relevant educational background as well as a research degree (PhD level) and several years of experience in research and research leadership.

You think and work strategically and are relationally strong with a pronounced talent for collaboration. With your action- and solution-oriented approach you can translate ideas and needs into concrete actions and communicate them.

You work in a trust-based manner and are motivated to lead and engage in a university college culture where the practice-oriented perspective has decisive significance, and where the core of the strategy is the focal point.
