About the job

Damagerskolen is a small public school in the center of Greve, where we know each other across year groups, subject groups and roles. Greve Municipality's 10th grade (GTI) is part of the school. With us, closeness, relationships and a sense of community are noticeable in everyday life. We are now seeking a new head of early years (indskolingsleder) for our lovely school. If you are motivated to be part of a small and close school community with short distances between people and decisions, we would very much like to hear from you.

Your task

As head of early years, you will have the pedagogical and personnel leadership responsibility for the early years and the SFO. In the SFO, a middle manager handles the daily operations in close collaboration with you. You also have a major leadership responsibility for the SFO, the staff, the pedagogical direction and the coherence between school and leisure time.

It is important for us that leadership can be felt in everyday life. You must be visible and accessible, know the staff's practices and follow up on the agreements we make. You must be able to create clear frameworks and expectations and step in as a leader when a class, a child, a parent collaboration or a personnel matter requires it.

You are not only the leader of the early years and the SFO. As part of the school leadership, you share responsibility for the entire Damagerskolen and must contribute actively to operations, priorities and school development across the organization.

We are looking for a leader who

  • has a relevant pedagogical or teaching-related background
  • is a clear and professionally well-founded sparring partner for the staff
  • can remain calm in complex situations, make decisions and take responsibility for them
  • has an eye for inclusive communities and children in vulnerable positions
  • can support a professional and trustful parent collaboration
  • has a leadership qualification or is prepared to complete one.

It is a clear advantage if you already have leadership experience and have tried your hand at personnel management and the many different tasks and dilemmas that come with leadership responsibility. If you have experience from the SFO or the after-school education area, we also see that as an advantage.

A committed leadership collaboration

The leadership consists of the headteacher, deputy headteacher, head of early years, and the department head for Greve Municipality's 10th grade. We each have our own areas of responsibility, but we are first and foremost a shared leadership team with responsibility for the whole school.

We place emphasis on open and honest sparring, clear task distribution and a strong collegial collaboration. There must be room for different perspectives and professional disagreement, but also a clear expectation that we stand together on the decisions we make and help each other when the tasks demand it.

You must therefore be eager to take an interest in the entire organization and actively and commitmentsly engage in the shared leadership tasks and in the continued development of Damagerskolen.

About Damagerskolen

We work every day with the students' learning, well-being and participation opportunities. Academic excellence, community and creativity are central values for us. All staff are trained in Restorative Practices, which provide a common framework for our work with relationships, dialogue and conflict resolution.

We believe that children develop and learn best in strong communities, and that solutions as far as possible should be found close to the child’s everyday life. Therefore, we work to create coherence between teaching, pedagogy and the professional communities around the children.

Employment and process

The position is full-time and expected to be filled by December 1, 2026 or no later than January 1, 2027. Salary and terms of employment are pursuant to the applicable collective agreement.

  • Application deadline: October 21, 2026
  • First interview: October 23, 2026
  • A informal coffee meeting will be arranged between the first and second interview with the principal.
  • Second interview: October 28, 2026

We will collect references in connection with the hiring, after prior agreement with you. Hiring is conditional on a clean criminal record and a clean child safeguarding certificate.

Would you like to know more?

You are very welcome to contact the principal Brian Heim - not available in week 42 - by SMS or call 40415703 for an informal conversation about the position or to arrange a visit to Damagerskolen. All inquiries will be treated confidentially.
