About the job
Healthcare Administrative Leader for Radiology and Scanning (RØSK)
Are you an experienced personnel leader, and would you like to become an important part of our strong healthcare professional community? Do you also want to lead an exciting development process where a secretarial group is to be gathered on one site? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.
RØSK is facing an exciting time with organizational changes as a result of the regional merger, health reform, and relocation. At the same time, we must develop and consolidate our health administrative functions so that they continue to support good, cohesive patient pathways and a well-functioning clinical everyday life.
The secretarial group is an integrated and important part of patient care. As healthcare administrative leader you will be a central link between medical secretaries, department heads and the department management regarding tasks, resources, competencies and professional development – with a focus on both quality, operations and a good working environment.
About the department
The department is organizationally merged with the other radiology and scanning divisions in the Region of Zealand, anchored under Zealand University Hospital (SUH). All divisions have local leadership and the merger makes the department Denmark's largest.
From January 2028, our three divisions in Roskilde, Køge and Næstved will be gathered at the new SUH, Køge. There will still be some activity in the divisions in Roskilde and Næstved, but everything will be led from SUH, Køge. This means that our three secretarial teams totaling 30 secretaries must be gathered under the same leader, which is the basis for this job advertisement.
An important part of your task will be, together with the staff and other leaders, to create the foundation for unifying the secretarial group on one site .
You will therefore play a key role in involving the employees, creating a common direction and helping to develop the organization that best supports both staff well-being, professional standards and the department’s patient pathways.
We are looking for you who want to help shape this process – and who see change as an opportunity to create something even better together.
Our vision
Our vision is that the health administrative functions continue to develop so that they remain the coordinated and unifying hub in our patient pathways.
The leadership group has a close multidisciplinary collaboration around the department's four strategic directions, which reflect SUH's strategic focus areas: Professionalism, Research, Flow and Community.
We place emphasis on close multidisciplinary collaboration and a strong sense of togetherness as some of our most important managerial tools. We are innovative and courageous and are happy to test new solutions – always with a focus on creating value for patients, staff and the organization.
Leadership role
In the role as healthcare administrative leader we emphasize good communication skills – both with your staff, partners and the management.
You must help to make staff competencies visible, develop and put staff competencies to use . You must be accessible and present so that staff feel they can come to you with challenges and ideas, and that together you will find good solutions.
You must have an overview of the organizational planning of both your own and the staff's tasks and resources. At the same time you must be able to raise your gaze and work strategically with the development of the health administrative function.
You will become part of our strong and well-functioning multidisciplinary leadership team, which together are the driving forces in the department’s operations and development. The leadership group consists of the department management – chief radiographer and chief physician – and 18 division heads who together are responsible for the department’s overall operations and patient care.
A key leadership task will be to create a common direction for the secretarial group and support the transition from three sites to one consolidated function. You must therefore be able to balance operations and development and at the same time create commitment through dialogue, clarity and involvement. It is not only about a physical gathering, but to a large extent about creating a new shared culture, clear workflows and a strong professional community across disciplines.
You will also be responsible for recruiting new staff, ensuring relevant competence development and coordinating a good educational environment for SAK students.
Your competencies
We imagine that you
- have leadership experience and relevant further education
- are visionary and lead the work with development initiatives in an organization undergoing change
- are motivated by creating structure, a common direction and good solutions together with the staff
- have experience with or a desire to lead organizational changes
- can see yourself in the leadership values Think New, Integrity, Community and Followership
- promote a collaborative and trusting culture
- have good communication skills and persuasiveness
- can create an overview and ensure optimal use of resources in relation to cohesive patient pathways and efficient operations
- have good collaboration skills – both mono- and cross-disciplinary
- have thorough knowledge of the hospital's IT systems and experience with registration practices
- have talent for and preferably experience with working with data and data governance
Most importantly for us is that you want to be an approachable leader who, together with the staff, will create a strong, unified and future-proof healthcare administrative function.
