Heating, Energy and Climate Consultant Wanted - East

The position as heat-, energy- and climate consultant in the Dioceses of Copenhagen, Helsingør, Roskilde and Lolland-Falster is hereby advertised with commencement on 1 January 2027. The position is fixed-term for 4 years and expires on 31 December 2030.

The position is a secondary occupation.

Profile

The heat-, energy- and climate consultant must have an education as a civil engineer or similar with a specialization in heating, energy and climate-related matters. The person employed in the position must not have a financial interest in companies that manufacture, trade, repair or service heating or climate installations or components for such installations.

The heat-, energy- and climate consultant is personally appointed and may be attached to an engineering or architectural firm with a specialization in heating, energy and climate.

Tasks

The consultant's professional field comprises cases concerning the execution of new heating, ventilation or humidification installations, or conversion of existing installations in churches, including conducting a professional thermal-technical and economic assessment regarding the execution and use of church heating systems. In addition, cases concerning energy consumption as well as locating and utilizing energy-saving opportunities and cases concerning climate conditions, including climate problems for the churches' historical inventories, etc.

As a heat-, energy- and climate consultant you shall, upon request, provide a declaration in cases relating to the above.

You will also need to provide advice and guidance to parish councils and cemetery boards upon request.

The heat-, energy- and climate consultant also participates in the diocese's consultant rounds, where we visit churches in the diocese, where a parish council has wishes or plans for a project.

During the consultant rounds the project is discussed with the parish council, and where the heat-, energy- and climate consultant applies his/her expertise together with the diocese's other consultants. About 4 consultant rounds are held per year in each diocese.

As a heat-, energy- and climate consultant you act as an advisor to the church authorities according to the rules in:

Please note that the Ministry of Health and Church Affairs expects to send revised administrative regulations out for consultation during September 2026. There is a proposed change in the consultants' areas of expertise, and the changes will therefore be of importance for upcoming appointments. The ministry expects to adopt the administrative regulations during October-November 2026.

It is important to note that as a heat-, energy- and climate consultant you must not undertake design tasks for parish councils within the diocese you are employed in, unless the diocese exceptionally approves it.

Remuneration

The remuneration as of 1 January 2026

• Consulting cases under § 8 in Circular no. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the Joint Instructions for the Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,236 DKK per hour.
• Declaration cases under § 7, para. 1, in Circular no. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the Joint Instructions for the Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,854 DKK per declaration.

The remuneration is supplemented with 12.5% holiday pay, and no VAT is added.

Rates are adjusted annually on January 1.
