About the job

Do you dream of personal and professional development in an inspiring environment where we develop new innovative solutions in collaboration with leading companies and knowledge environments? Then it’s you we are looking for.

In Circular Resources, at the Technological Institute in Aarhus, you work closely with professionally skilled and entrepreneurial colleagues. We translate the latest knowledge into concrete solutions that create value for companies and society through advisory services and the development of more climate-friendly products, materials, technologies and solutions.

Consultancy and development of chemical solutions

You will work with commercial advisory work and development tasks within new chemical solutions for materials, products and processes. Your workday will span broadly—from idea generation and customer dialogue to concrete development work in the laboratory.

As a specialist you collaborate closely with your colleagues to ensure professional development within our core areas such as material characterization, problem solving, and chemical and mechanical recycling of polymer-based materials. Your tasks include chemical problem solving, as well as development of material-technical test setups and data analysis that can support projects within, among other things, recycling of textiles, plastics and composites. The tasks are solved in close cooperation with your colleagues and external partners through development projects and advisory tasks for and with our customers.

Your main tasks

  • Hands-on problem solving through a hypothesis-driven approach
  • Bringing your knowledge into play in new contexts and helping to develop and advise on the right solutions for customers
  • Performing material characterization through spectroscopic methods or other relevant technical analyses, as well as the accompanying statistical data analysis in Python
  • Building test setups/prototypes, which may include utilizing existing equipment in a new way, using sensors, 3D-printed items and other electronically controlled elements
  • Advising and close collaboration with companies
  • Creating innovative and value-creating projects in close collaboration with national and international companies and knowledge institutions

You will have a very varied job, where you have a high degree of freedom to continuously define your own tasks and areas of focus.

Curious and ambitious chemist/chemical engineer

You are a professionally grounded chemical engineer/chemist with industry experience or a chemist with a PhD. On a daily basis you work with chemical characterization or development of prototypes/test setups, and you are passionate about seeing your knowledge translate into groundbreaking solutions that create value for customers and partners. Concrete experience in developing material-technical test setups, materials chemistry, composites, rubber, chemical recycling or characterization would be an advantage.

You are ambitious on behalf of yourself and your projects, and you are driven by a desire to be in professional motion. You are naturally curious and prepared to explore possibilities and solutions broadly, also in the peripheries of your field—and sometimes even outside. You look forward to inspiring and being inspired with new knowledge from colleagues in daily collaboration across disciplines.

You will become part of the Technological Institute

In Circular Resources we work with products and materials from a broad chemical perspective and a holistic approach, which includes tasks within both product development, process development, sorting, processing and recycling within the green transition. With about 50 development-oriented colleagues in chemistry and physics, the framework is set for an entrepreneurial and creative work environment with a high professional level.

We collaborate with the largest Danish and international companies, SMEs and with innovative startups. We believe, and have experience that broad innovation partnerships across industries and disciplines create the best solutions – both environmentally and commercially.

You can look forward to an inspiring and varied job where you will work on some of the most current technological challenges for society and business.
