Caregiver(s) wanted for a young man aged 30 in Middelfart - full-time or part-time

Would you like to make a difference in daily life for a young man with a big heart, lots of personality and many interests? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for as a helper to Mathias in Middelfart.

Mathias is 30 years old, a wheelchair user and nonverbal. He has epilepsy and uses a diaper. He is a social and determined young man who loves presence, coziness and secure surroundings. He thrives best when things happen at his pace, and when he is surrounded by people he knows and feels safe with.

Mathias can on good days be smiling, happy and very seeking contact. On less good days he can become frustrated and express it by shouting loudly. He needs helpers who can meet him with calm, patience and understanding.

He is interested in, among other things

• Trucks, tractors and machines
• Music, including Kim Larsen, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Bamse & Kylling and Popsie & Krelle
• Outings and experiences outside the home
• Cozy atmosphere and presence
• Getting out into nature when the weather is good

Job tasks

As a helper you will among other things have to

• Help with bathing and personal care
• Assist with toilet visits and diaper changes
• Help with food and drinks
• Participate in play, activities and training
• Keep Mathias' area clean and tidy
• Wash clothes
• Clean and maintain aids
• Accompany to activities and outings

Mathias participates regularly in several activities

• Bowling on Mondays
• Horse riding on Wednesdays
• Swimming on Thursdays

For bowling and swimming there are always two helpers with.

We are looking for someone who

• Is stable and flexible
• Has a calm and respectful approach
• Can create security and structure
• Thrives in working closely with another person
• Is a creatively thinking person who can come up with activities themselves
• Has a driving licence (requirement, as Mathias lives in the countryside)
• Also likes animals, as there are a dog, a cat and horses around him

Experience with epilepsy is an advantage, but not a requirement.

It is important to note that Mathias is a strong young man who is not always aware of his own strengths. Therefore you must be robust and comfortable with a workday where there may be a few spontaneous and well-meaning pats on the shoulder.

Working hours

• Monday - Thursday: 10.00 - 17.00
• Friday: 09.00 - 16.00
• Every 3rd Saturday: 09.00 - 16.00

It is possible to divide the position so that there are 2 part-time positions, if desired by the applicant. Please include in your application how many hours you want.
