About the job
Do you want to become part of a department that is among the country’s leading in its specialty? Here is your opportunity to join an attractive department with high professional quality and good spirits.
Who are we?
Our patients are post-operative after advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including bypass surgeries, heart valve operations, and operations for cancer in the lungs and esophagus.
In addition to the inpatient ward, we have an outpatient clinic where patients come for preoperative consultation and preparation. The outpatient clinic is open during the day on all weekdays and is staffed in shifts by the inpatient ward staff. We work with the entire patient pathway both before and after the operation.
The tasks range from fundamental nursing, instrumental nursing, teaching and guidance to patients with a focus on life after surgery to the care of acutely and critically ill patients.
Our inpatient ward is normed for 15 beds. We are about 30 nurses and one department physiotherapist employed in the department. You can now become part of the group. We are seeking social and health care assistants for both a permanent position and a 6-month temporary contract with the possibility of extension.
Our department is characterized by a high level of quality and activity, where both mono- and interprofessional collaboration are highly valued. We are primarily organized with primary nursing, as we emphasize a holistic approach to our patients. The nurses are organized in a team or as a pair of colleagues with whom you will become part of and together with the nurses participate in observation, care and support for the team’s patients.
We have a strong focus on a good work environment and know that the balance between work life and private life is important for each person’s well-being. The continuous focus on well-being is also reflected in our latest well-being survey. Social relations and good collegial bonds are important for job satisfaction, which is why we prioritize social events. This is evident in, among other things, a maternity cafe, annual heart festivals, Christmas gatherings, etc. If you are curious, you can find us on Instagram: Department T (@thoraxkir_aalborguh) • Instagram photos and videos
We are a department in constant development, continuously working on developing our profession and competencies. We have hired a development and teaching nurse who works purposefully with this.
We are gradually settling into the new framework in the Hospital City and are working purposefully with the challenges that arise along the way.
The department also has a large educational task and receives nursing students in 1st, 2nd and 6th semester as well as social and health care assistant students. There is a clinical education nurse and two clinical supervisors who mainly handle this task.
