Home economist or Nutrition Assistant for Nøddebo Kindergarten

Chef cook – home economist (økonoma) sought – do you want to make good food in the middle of the children's daily routine?

We are looking for a home economist on 32 hours per week with start 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter .

With us, the kitchen is located right in the middle of the house. It is an open kitchen facing our common room, where children and parents come in in the morning, and where the kindergarten day begins. Therefore we are looking not only for someone who is skilled in a kitchen – we also want you to meet children, parents and colleagues with a smile and an approachable attitude.

Solrød Municipality offers a lunch arrangement in the day-care centers, and you will be responsible for creating good, varied and child-friendly meals for our toddlers and kindergarten children.

Your daily life with us

You will be responsible for the daily operation of the kitchen and will among other things:

• plan and prepare the day’s meals
• develop varied and nutritionally correct meal plans – with attention to what children like to eat
• handle procurement and ordering
• have an overview of the kitchen’s finances and consumption
• ensure good kitchen hygiene and self-control
• be mindful of allergies and special dietary needs
• contribute with new ideas and want to develop our meals.

We like the idea that the kitchen is part of the kindergarten’s life. Perhaps a child will pass by and be curious about what smells from the oven, or want to know what will be served for lunch. Therefore you should want to work in a place where the children also come close to your workspace and your everyday life.

You will be part of a small house

We are a staff group with currently six permanent employees and a temporary worker, so you will become an important part of our shared everyday life. We help each other and need everyone to contribute to the house – even though we have different professional backgrounds and tasks.

We imagine that you are trained as a home economist, nutrition assistant or have another relevant nutrition-related education.

You work independently, are structured and have a good overview. And we hope that you are smiling, approachable and happy to be around both children and adults.

The most important thing is that you want to cook good food for children, take responsibility for the kitchen, and at the same time be part of the community that makes the whole house function.

The position is 32 hours per week.

Start date: 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Application deadline: 26 October 2026.
